    Great idea poor execution

I really want to like this. But the design is just bad.
Pros: The water line provided is insulated so it should be less prone to freezing. Because it's not PVC it should also be less prone to cracking if it does happen to freeze. The kit does contain the things you would need to install five drinking stations.
Cons: The piece that attaches the drinking cups to the water lines you have to install it on the cage before you push the water line onto it. However the water line is a really tight fit so you need to be able to twist turn and manipulate it. If you use this slightest fraction too much force you're going to break that attachment. I'm also afraid that since this is going to be outside once it gets cold that plastic is going to break anyway. If you have a larger coop area with hardware cloth or chicken wire that you are a trying to attach this to you definitely need two people. And you have to hope and pray that you don't break that attachment when trying to get the hose installed on it. You cannot pre-install the hose before attaching it to the wire because the screw that mounts it to the wire won't fit over the hose. So you are forced to attach it before installing the hose. It's just a really inconvenient design that somebody did not think about the actual installation. Individual components are great this one piece makes the entire thing trash.
    Lowering my review.
The cups leak at the connector. And if you tighten them to stop the leak, the break off in that connector and you are out of luck trying to get them out

Sip, Sip, Hooray! The Watering Hack My Chickens Drool Over

If you’re done lugging buckets like a gym rat on farm duty, this sip station is a total lifesaver. I’ve got it set up in three temporary coops, and setup was so quick, I barely had time to hide my excitement before my chickens swarmed the new hydration hotspot.

Speaking of chickens—they took to it immediately, like it was the VIP lounge of waterers. No drama, no picky sips, just pure “drink up, buttercup” energy.

The catch? Those inner cups are like little plastic ninjas—easy to install, but a nightmare to pry out when it’s cleaning time. Prepare for a mini wrestling match every wash day.

Bottom line: this system makes watering the flock way less of a chore, and my hens are basically giving me the chicken version of a high five. If you want your birds hydrated and happy without the bucket Olympics, this is your go-to.

Best watering system out there hands down

This is the best watering system by far. I can't recommend it enough! So easy to install. They thought of everything. Insulated solid color hose to eliminate algea and freezing. The adapters make it so easy to install through 1/2 wire and an easy tap to the supply tank. Love how u can simply unscrew an old nipple or cup and replace in seconds! I've been using gravity fed water supply for my birds for years and this one is the absolute best! Hands down!

Simple Hydration Kit making this Chore a Breeze

I got this sip station system for my mother - a first time chicken mom with the hope of avoiding a lot of issues people face with hydration for the first time. Nothing fancy here but includes everything you need to set up the hydration system in whatever configuration fits your coop the best. The items provided, nipped, auto-fill cups, tubing, t-connectors, and even the drill bit are all of good quality and make installation super simple giving you plenty of options to set it exactly how you want it. Keeping water clean seems to be the biggest hassle with other type setups but this watering system solves that problem only providing access to just enough water to keep chickens happy. Everything goes together very easy even for those who are not expert DIYers or mechanically inclined. This system makes hydration an easy chore now with the main responsibility being to keep the 5 gallon source bucket clean and full of water with the occasional clean out of the cups inside the coop.

Love Rent-a-coop, but quality of the connectors is not good.. very breakable

**support ticket sent to them- will update when they reply.
I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the connectors. I've had to fix them several times because they break EXTREMELY easily. I am very close to replacing the system with something else.
Also, beware the cups auto fill by weight. If something gets jammed underneath the cups (like bedding) the cups will continually leak and make a gigantic mess. It may be our setup is set too low, but I need it low for day-old chicks to be able to reach it.

    Cups stopped working

Easy to use but some of the cups would stop working. Switched to the nipples and it works great

    Super Flexible!

Love this so far. Easy to install; tons of flexibility. My only complaint is that the t-connectors are a little flimsy. When pushing the tubing over them, it was very tight (which is good), but it was easy to bend/kind of the connector. Just be careful when doing it. Glad I made this purchase; wish I would have done it a long time ago.

    Awesome Watering System

Update: I just wanted to come back here for an update, RentACoop has gone above and beyond to fix my small issue. They absolutely deserve great praise for this! Rest assured your money is going to a great company who genuinely cares about their customers and their experience!

This is a great DIY system for small animals! I am using it for my quail. The directions are super easy to follow as well and it's very straight forward. I had a small issue that when I first tried Amazon's customer service, Amazon wasn't helpful at all. They didn't understand my problem and made everything complicated. I got off the chat and I called Rent-A-Coop because they have their phone number on the listing. They called me back really fast, within 20 minutes, and they got the issue taken care of! A+ Company that really stands behind their product and has good customer service. Amazon needs to do better themselves, they rarely help a situation and make things so complicated when you contact them through chat.

    great for my coturnix quail!

We set these up for my adult coturnix quail. They figured it out within the day. I had to poke the water nipples a couple times and fill the catch cups, but after they saw it, they got it. My 4 week old chicks figured it out when I put a hen in with them for the day too. They just watched her do it and figured it out for themselves.

    Quality Watering System!

Rent a coop is a trusted brand of mine and this system is no exception. The water cups are good quality and fit into the tubes just fine. I hooked my system up to a rain catchment barrel via gravity feed so I do not have to worry about refilling. Just make sure to disassemble before the first freeze as this may crack the tubing.

It works well, easy to install and a lot less for the birds to dirty.

    High quality

This is a little on the expensive side, but is high quality. I love the insulated tubing, it's very thick and durable.

The parts all fit together well without leaking. Putting it together is straightforward, though I wish they included a printed version of the instructions instead of having to scan a QR code. I didn't need the instructions really, but reading them on a phone screen can be a pain.

This is aimed at poultry, but it does say "multiple species" and shows a picture of a rabbit. I would not get this specific kit for rabbits. They can't use this type of nipple drinker very well and they destroy the plastic auto-fill cups. The cups have a plastic insert in them, which becomes a toy as soon as the rabbit learns it is removable. And they chew both that and the rest of the drinker apart quickly, no matter how many distraction toys/chews I give them. I would look for the brass nipples or metal auto-fill cups if you have rabbits. Though this brands metal autofill cups stick pretty far into the cage and can be twisted around by the rabbit. I've also had some of my more chewing obsessed rabbits chew the plastic base of those metal drinkers (those rabbits get switched to brass nipples).

Everything you need besides the water container

I built a new stand alone brooder this year for our incoming bird shipments. The one thing I hadn't done was upgraded the water setup. We've been using 3 Gallon buckets with the dipping cups. I got this set so that I could use one of the 30G barrels I have around instead. Installation was simple into the barrel. I'm now able to keep it outside of brooder pen and deal with filling it without going inside. What I really like is the cup design attachment system. I use a 19G wire on their brooder and this is able to affix super easily inside without having to drill or mount anything. It's nice because I can easily take down the system come winter when we don't have anything inside the brooder to help with our winterizing process.

The price is more than you'd pay putting together all the pieces on your own that's true but have included everything you're going to need in one package, added instructions, and provided hopefully some quality testing on the materials before selling it to you. For most anyone not doing a large scale chicken setup the pricing is fine to have the work put into it so you have an easy install process.

Good and easy set-up for poultry watering station

My husband and I set up the new watering station for our hens, just in time for the 100+ temps that just rolled in. We used a dark blue 5-gallon bucket (with lid) and set it up in the shade on a stack of paver stones (18" x 18" x 18") to allow for gravity to do its thing. Our wire fencing was too far apart for the watering nozzles to attach properly so we used baling wire to attach a hardware cloth to that wire, then attached the nozzles. Added bonus: the hardware cloth provides extra protection from predators, making it safer for the girls to use the watering station. The T-connectors are the only thing we really had an issue using; they're very soft, making it tricky to get them to nest securely in the tubing. My husband used water to make it easier to insert them, but is a little concerned that they won't hold up well. Luckily, we have extras that we can use as spare parts, should the need arise. Our girls really appreciate having extra access, and we really appreciate being able to quickly and easily fill up the bucket with the hose. Our hope is to eventually add IBC containers to harvest rainwater, then add sand, gravel, and charcoal to the blue bucket to purify the water before it reaches the girls.

    Difficult to seal

I love this concept, I struggled to get the hosing over the valves though.

Perfect for your high capacity chicken waterer!

I got this so I didn't have to worry about watering my chickens on those long weekends away. It is easy to set up with any large capacity water holder (trash can, food barrel, ICB tote, etc) and works great! The tubing is great because it is completely customizable and can be cut to whatever size you want. Overall a wonderful project that has allowed me to keep my chickens watered! We use ours in our outdoor chicken run but it would be great for a stacked cage system.

    fantastic addition to the coop!

The system is great, easy to install (once you figured out where you want them - I had to make sure that my ducks can't reach them, as they muck up all the water they can find) and works great! The tubing is long enough to wrap around the coop, I installed it in the run, added a float valve to a bucket with a permanent hose connection that I can switch off to drain and clean the system. I love that this system is so flexible, you have lots of options. I would suggest you consider to raise the watering cups a bit higher up so that the chickens don't fling dirt in it, and also don't try to get on it with their claws. That alone will prevent a lot of issues. I decided to install roosting bars about a foot off the ground and then add the cups another 6inches above that (in order to prevent the ducks from reaching) and it made my life so much easier! No more constant manual refilling, chasing the ducks out of the run, cleaning up the dirt from the drinker.... what's not to love?!?! 100% recommend this!
