Bought this feeder via Amazon, we have hundreds of chickens and several different types of feeders around the farm, as our flock free range. We feed pellets and have a mixed flock with various sizes and combs
So going to give you the deets on how this one compares to our others.
First type we have is 44lb galvanized cone feeder with rain hat and feed saver. Can be brought into feed shed to fill. Legs have come off as they were wing bolt on type without locking nut.
Younger birds, roosters and bantams like this one. Despite feed saver there is waste. Wild birds also snack daily.
DIY Bucket feeder only holds so much feed, have to fill up over and over again. Needs raised up off ground.
Omlet feeder 25lb no waste feeder, it’s ignored. Have had it the same amount of time as the Rent a Coop one and hardly have had to fill it. Can be brought into feed shed to fill. Chicken comb and feathers need to be taken into consideration. Especially roosters

Rent a Coop Feeder, used by both chickens and ducks. This is the preferred dining for most of our grown hens. Everything from Polish to Orpington eat out of this one. Like the Omlet chicken combs and breed size need to be taken into consideration. The legs unlike the Omlet are adjustable. Because of size needs filled outside, as 65lb of feed is heavy to lug around in this feeder. No waste at all.
Did come with a minor dent in shipping which was no big deal to me.
We plan to buy a few more of Rent a Coop feeders because we’ve had no problem with moisture, waste or other animal snacking. We can’t go exclusive with this one because of bantams, a few flighty breeds and large comb breeds. Overall this is my favorite feeder.
I have a coop from tractor supply and these hang perfectly on the wire mesh for oyster shells and grit. Magnetic tops are really strong. Good stuff!!
They leak and flood the pen. I used the instructed drill bit size AND added additional rubber seals. They do not work. I will be switching back to another cheaper brand that I have purchased before. I would like a refund. I invested this much money $50 to make sure i got a product that would work. Just because its name brand doesn't mean it will work at all, let alone batter.
