I used these along with some other parts I got from Rent a Coop to assemble a very nice water system for my chickens, all fed from a single 5 gallon bucket. These screw right on fencing as long as you have at least a half inch opening. As I learned while installing his, it is much easier if you use a heat gun to heat up the tubing before you attach it to these fittings. I actually broke one of these fittings while attempting to force the tubing because I had not heated it first. Note, once you put tubing on these fittings it is not coming off unless you cut it, so measure carefully. This is a novel product that pairs well with the Rent A Coop watering system.

I’ve come to have a lot of trust in RentACoop products. This kit is the same.
I didn’t quite know what to make of these at first. I think a little instruction sheet would be helpful but here’s my take so far. These adapters allow you to do several things:
• Mount a barb adapter in a bucket without tools (other than drilling a hole)
• Mount a pecking style or cup waterer with an 1/8” npt thread on a board
• Make an inline adapter between 1/8” npt and 5/16” barb
We are developing a 5/16” ID 7/16”OD watering system and this is quite compatible. The fittings are basically tool-less adapter that is threaded female 1/8” npt on one side and 5/16” barb on the other with a high pitched thread and nut with seal on the NPT female side that fits in a 716” hole.
In our case I put one of these adapters in a 2 gallon bucket and run clear vinyl tubing to a series of pecking and cup style watering systems. We used tapped holes in PVC or Poly tubing but these can be mounted to a piece of plywood with these adapters also.
The kit includes T splitters for this sort of purpose but these are not that value added. The quality and speed of the flange adapters is the main value here. I find these pricey but the speed, flexibility and quality makes them a very good value.

These work perfect, like everything I have gotten from RentACoop. We use these to attach poultry drinking cups to ½" hardware cloth sides of our quail cage. They fit through the wire and let you attach the cups to the inside, the tubing to the outside. Then the tubing auto feeds water into the self filling cups ( same brand), it's a brilliant set up for summer!
Needed a few more pieces to finish the job. Love RentACoop
The value is just not there. Also for anyone confused, you do not need these to mount the water cups to the cages. Honestly I think the cups work better without these mounts. Much tighter to the cage without them. Save yourself the money and just order the cups and some generic plastic barb fittings for $3.
Quality products as always. It would be helpful to list the size of tubing needed on the box but otherwise I love their products
The connectors fit snugly and create a leak-proof seal. Easy way to provide water to multiple animals from a single source.
These are fully compatible with the DIY Sip Station, as advertised. A bit pricey, but I haven't had any issues with the parts.
One of our pullets keeps trying to roost on our tubing, and I accidentally damaged one of the connectors while trying to put everything back together. Thankfully, I had thought ahead and added this kit full of replacement parts to our stash. The only thing that would make this kit better is if it also included 4-6 of the horizontal nipples. Still, I can order those separately and plan to do so.
Work great
This order contained seven (7) tubing adapters and six (6) barbed T-connectors. The tubing adapter will pass through and connect to 1/2-inch hardware cloth. You can then attach a watering cup to the 1/8-inch threads. This is a nice system if you want to use tubing only and bypass the use of PVC pipe. The T-connectors also work well to add additional tubing and watering cups to other cages.
Everything works well, but I think I prefer using 1/2-inch PVC T-fittings with 1/8-inch female pipe thread. And, the PVC costs a lot less. Rent-A-Coop is doing a lot of good work innovating products for the DIY bird-raising community, so I appreciate their products. However, some things like PVC are going to be hard to beat in price and simplicity. All of their products work well, but the price point is rather steep compared to PVC pipe and fittings.
I needed a few extra connectors for my Sip Station, these are of great quality, just like the original set, and make it easier to connect the Sip Station in more places. They work fine, just have to be careful not to put too much pressure when tightening them. My chickens are happy with their watering system, and so am I ! They are a bit pricey, but definitely better quality compared to other no-name brand items (which I started out with). RentACoop is a great company and I would recommend most of their products!

I have been using RentACoop branded DIY kits for a while now. They are easy to use and perfect for my needs. Unfortunately, for me, these tubing adaptors are a bit of meh. Don't get me wrong, they work great. It is just that they are made of plastic and can be easily damaged via over tightening. Out of the dozen or so I have used, 3 of them have already broken/leaking and need to be replaced.
RentACoop has come out with several fabulous solutions for installing mess-free chicken watering systems. This kit is part of their Sip Station system and allows for either complete DIY setups or to extend one of their starter Sip Station kits with additional tubing (ASIN B0D4FDJB73). Check out the RentACoop store for compatible waterers and kits, and watch their excellent installation videos to see if this method is right for you.
Unless you go with RentACoop's PVC-pipe-based S.N.A.P. system (which I review separately and think is best for more than a handful of chickens), you can set up a gravity-fed watering bucket or other container outside of the run, leaving more real estate for your chickens to run around in inside. If you only have a few chickens, you can easily top off the bucket with a hose as the water drops. Of course, the DIYer will find ways to incorporate the Sip Station parts into a S.N.A.P. system as well; they don't have to be mutually exclusive.
I've tried all sorts of watering setups for chickens. One thing I'll tell you: Do NOT waste your time putting in watering that the chickens can roost on top of or scratch dirt up into. I've got one of those square watering containers with cup waterers in their run now, and it's a constant battle keeping the water clean. With the base and the jutting-out watering cups, this waterer takes up almost enough square footage to keep another chicken.
Kudos to RentACoop for providing the small flock chicken keeper with this simple and elegant solution for watering their birds.
