RentACoop Chick2Chicken 10lb Feeder & 2 Gal Waterer Set

These are so easy to use and the chickens don't make a big mess of their food and water anymore. I put both of them up a little bit on bricks/concrete blocks which helps with access. Very sturdy and robust.

Update: Poor quality. Feeder and waterer used maybe 3 months and I noticed the waterer leaking from every outlet. Upon inspection I noticed the bucket had actually cracked around every hole. It is no longer usable and not worth the money spent.

The waterer is Better for older chicks/chickens I think. I love all the options they come with, the waterer isn’t great for 2-3 week old chicks tho. They are not strong enough for the push nipples and they get together around one or two of the water cups and cause it to over fill and leak out soaking them and their bedding. I will use later in the chicken run once they are a bit bigger. No issues with the feeder, great for any age.

Wished it would hang. Lid does not stay on

The feeder is great. The waterer is absolutely horrible. It gets clogged like no other!! Upset I spent my money on so.ething my chickens can barely use

We used this set when transitioning our chicks from their starter set. I liked having the option for their water supply, as some were definitely better at using the cups rather than the metal nipples. Liked that the material is just opaque enough so you could easily tell when they needed to be refilled. We chose to elevate them on a stand rather than hang so having the optional angled cover was also great to discourage roosting and sitting on top. Decent capacity for 12 young birds but we plan to size up as they continue to grow.

Ok, I don't want to start off giving a bad review, because I really like rent a coop products!
In the pic for the waterer it shows the big cups, that's why I bought it! But they give you the nipple cups for the container and the other cups are for a water system that you can hang on a cage, they have these pieces attached that you can't take off. So I used 2 of each and put them on a small palette on the edge otherwise they would leak.
They also give you a chain to hang them but it doesn't work out just slips all over.
For the feeder it's a nice container but the feeding ports where the chickens eat are very small. I'm sorry maybe it'll work for most chickens but the output isn't very much. I had a similar one I had to go back to since they wouldn't use this one. I only bought this mainly for the waterer but you can't buy it separately.
The containers are very well made and the lids stay on very well.

I have 10 birds I use these in their run . Feeder better than waterer wayerer leaked the whole time on and off . Over all ok 👌

All of my bantam and larger sized chickens were able to figure out this feeder and waterer very quickly, I showed the rooster how to use them, and he showed the others. I highly recommend!!

My feeder came missing a locknut. However, I contacted RentACoop and they mailed me one the next day. Great customer service! My chickens have loved this feeder and waterer!

I like the size of both water and feeder as I was refilling two ot three times Daily. Much cleaner. Chickens still find a way to stand on water on get poop in water cups. I haven't tried to take them off yet. I cannot take the lids off, I need my husband to do so. To difficult for me. Wish they came with two chains. We have a pre fab coop. We fill both 3/4 full for weight. My flock has no problem with water cups but the feeder cups!!!!! Thinking of taking the black locks out, to see if that helps. The girls just can’t see the the food. Especially my polish girl her poof just blocks her sight in the tube. I don’t think we have a leaking issue with the water. Will update after sometime has past. Seems like a quality product came with extra parts and good directions.

I will try and be as detailed as possible and write why I will be retuning this.
The main reason I chose the rent a coop brand vs the others is I heard they have amazing customer service AND that this particular feeder had an option to close it at night. I have yet to deal with customer service so I can’t speak on that, but the night feeder port is really just a piece of plastic you slide open and close. On the picture it looked simple to get to and something you can reach from the outside of the port. It’s inside and difficult to get to, let alone all 4 sides. I would rather just in
bring in the feeder at this point. Also before purchasing I read that the water is hard to balance since cups are below the main base and on all 4 sides. It really is hard to find a leveled surface that’s just thin enough for the base and keeps it balance. Hanging is not an option for my coop. Also, the red lids are insanely hard to open and close. All in all this is not what I was looking for. I could not imagine trying to fill and rebalance this, it would drive me nuts. Their packaging is very nice and they seem like a great company just did not meet my personal needs.

This is genius! Thank you for the extra little peck cup, the other one had a warped nut. I love the dome top that prevents the bird from perching and crapping. Stickers and bright red and white match my coop. To hand or not to hang option says it all! I bought both waterer and feeder! Love it!

This has been great for my mini flock of 4. It has rained so much since they have been outdoors and the food stays perfectly dry and un bothered (I do keep it in a covered area, but wind and rain still haven't created an issue).
The little water cups pop right out and with a quick rinse they're back in action.
no complaints! Bantams seem to be having a fine time as well as the big girls. Beyond easy to put together.

The biggest issue I have with this is the watered. I am not able to suspend the buckets so I have to put them on a stand but I cannot find a stand to use with the cups anywhere bc they drop below the bottom of the bucket and the water bucket does not feel stable if I try to put some blocks under it. Basically, there are better products and solutions out there to care for your flock. I do not recommend using these.

Update: customer service is top notch and sent me a new one. Very grateful and excited to try the new one!

I bought this waterer and feeder a few months ago. I’ve had no issues with the feeder, but I’ve had tons of issues with the waterer leaking. I’ve tried both the cups and the nipples, both ended up leaking in no time and I’d have to take them all out, clean them out, and hope they would stop leaking. Unfortunately, I think it’s not fixable this time. I have had the nipple waterers on the past 2 months because it’s colder, and somehow the plastic container has warped so much where one of the nipples are that it will not stop leaking. I’ve switch it out for new ones and even had my mechanic husband try to fix it, no luck. My tractor supply $10 waterer has been so much better and less annoying.

Bought a set of these about 4 years ago and they are still in service. Recently I built a second coop as a bachelor pen for my roosters so bought another set. I was pleased with the small changes to the newer product. Easier to remove lids the small cup lip on the nipples is a nice addition. My chickens love the cup waters but I wish they didn’t prefer them. My only con comment is that on occasion my choocks drink so much water in the summer that the plastic plug in the drinker creates a suction and the water won’t come out. Deadly problem in the summer. I had to drill a small hole in the water top plug to over come this problem. This happened with my first set too. Keep an eye on the water feeder for this issue. The small silkies are even safe eating out of the feeder so everything seems good with that. No waste.

Well made with easy assembly and I love the roost guards. I only wish they came with two hanging chains ( i only received one). I ended up putting the feeder on a couple of bricks to elevate it.

I have Coturnix quail (mostly jumbo varieties, a few standard) and this feeder and waterer work great for them. Little to no waste for the feed, but they can all easily access it. The waterer works great too, we use the horizontal nipples that are included, and they do not leak at all. We have several waterers from Rent a Coop and have been very happy with them. Quail took to them very quickly, took less than an hour for all of them to figure out how to use it. Once one starts pecking at it, they all get curious and figure it out. I also like that the waterer has an inner lid that has a small hole for using a water heater. I emailed the company to ask what heater they suggest to use with it and they responded very quickly with the Farm Innovators C-50 model De-icer. They also included pictures and instructions.
Both feeder and waterer seem very durable and easy to clean.

All in all, very pleased with this purchase and will be buying more from them in the future as my covey expands.

I have a few RentACoop products now and overall am pleased with all of them.
For those of you that have quail, you know HOW MUCH WASTE there is with MOST feeders!
While there are may videos online for DIY no-waste feeders that you can make pretty inexpensively, this is an excellent option if you are looking for a premade quail feeder.

Pros:
NO waste!
Heavy duty
Keeps feed dry and clean, which keeps feeder clean!
Holds a large volume of food
Quail cannot climb on feeder
As easy to refill as DIY no-waste feeders

Cons:
It is large-ish depending on your cage set up
It has 4 openings for feeding vs. 8+ on a DIY feeder

We have several different cages and have tried several quail/chicken feeders but they all have allowed for more waste than I can tolerate so I am THRILLED to have found a ready made product that virtually eliminates feed waste AND can hold a large volume of feed since I have quite a few quail.

The waterer is straight forward and shares many of the same benefits, but it requires being up on a block if you use the cups vs. the nipples so it may be too tall for your quail set up. PERFECT for chicks and chickens though!

I am currently converting to RentACoop products for all my chickens and quail. I want them for winter because it will be pretty straight forward to put a fish tank heater in the waterer over winter without altering the waterer because there is a hole pre drilled in the flat lid that will easily accommodate a cord plug (the white no-roost lid goes OVER a flat red lid).

I have 6 barred rock hens and these two items work great for them! During the hot summer months I can make sure they have plenty of drinking water at all times. It’s also now easier to keep them from pooping in their food. Just make sure not to overload the feeder because mice can fit in the feeding holes and eat the excess food at night. I’m still working on pest-proofing the run!

I put the feeder and waterer on their own planter box bricks to raise them to eye level for the hens, and it works great for me. The cups for the waterer can be cleaned by turning them to the side to dump out the water and then wiping them with a paper towel. The set also included nipple waterer a, but my girls like the cups better.

10/10, would recommend to anyone who owns chickens!
