RAC Paws by RentACoop No-Drip 32oz Small Animal Drinking Bottle with Auto-Fill Metal Cup

The Good:
• Really cleverly designed. The parts that come separate from other parts make it easier to attach to the cage, and the plug makes it easy to take the tank off to clean without water getting everywhere. It's simple to put together
• Does not leak
• Easy to refill
• My rabbit cannot tip this water bowl over or stand in it!

The Bad:
• I specifically requested they NOT ship in manufacturer's packaging so it wouldn't get all busted up. They did it anyway and wouldn't you know it, the part that holds the tank to the cage is severely bent! (see photo)
• If the wiring on your cage isn't incredibly thick and tight like mine isn't (it's chicken wire), the weight of the water tank is gonna pull a little and make the tank tip back, meaning water doesn't flow as easily into the bowl. Still gauging if it affects my bunny's ability to hydrate or not, but I can imagine it's annoying for her to drink from!
• I had to cut some of my cage's wire to be able to attach this because the connectors sat between two gaps. Not inherently a flaw since it might be hard to make that adjustable but worth mentioning

I kept the item because I think I can find a way to resolve my 2nd problem... if I do, then honestly, this would be kind of perfect!

Awesome and super easy set up!!! Nice clean water for my quails, and helps me give them more room and it’s off the ground so it will have less chance of getting dirty & came quicker than expected!!!!

I really like that you don't have to take it off cage and unscrew to refill, you just open lid and pour water in and done. I like the metal cup for rabbits because they chew on plastic. I installed my waterer on a quail cage and it works great for them, quail like to take water baths and this prevents them from being able to sit in the waterer

I hung it up in my rabbits cage and worked perfectly for maybe 8 hours. Refilled and it won’t dispense any water now.

I use these for all my rabbits and the bigger ones for growout cages. Pretty chew proof for the most part though there is plastic on the inside that can be chewed. Holds a decent amount of water. My only con is that its not very sturdy on the top and causes it to flip to the side sometimes spilling water or caused it to leak. Mine is the one with the spring and not the black plastic part though so not sure if it changed.

I suppose it depends on what your usage for this is. I got it for my guinea pigs cage, bc I have such a hard time finding a bottle that won't leak. But the piggies just did NOT get this thing. They used it to stand on, spilling most of the water. The way it attaches is not very secure at all, either. I couldn't get it to stop wobbling or rocking back and forth, no matter where or how I attached and tightened it. Bummer that it didn't work for me, so I did return it.

This bottle is so great I purchased a second one. I love being able to fill from the outside of the cage. The bowl is large and easy for my ferrets to drink from. The bottle itself holds about the same as a regular (human) water bottle. Haven't had any problems with leakage and the included stopper makes changing the bottle/bowl super easy with little to no mess. It's also much quieter than the spout versions with the roller ball.
It can be a bit difficult to fit the base of the kneck of the bowl through the cage but that's because it's a critter nation and the gap is fairly small. Because of all the small parts, it's a bit more complicated to clean than a regular water bottle, which is why I bought a second one, but I think that's just the nature of this kind of water bottle.

I'm buying more of these eventually. My ferrets go through water like crazy and those bottles with ball stem not only make them work hard for a drop, they are hard to fill, hard to clean and eventually leak. I've had this rent a coop for months. Never had to clean yet, stays clean, I flop up top, pour fresh spring water in, I have one ferret who is picky about what he'll drink out of and almost died from refusal to drink from the bowls I tried when I first bought him, I had to give him water from a syringe which he drank from greedily. This rent a coop waterer is a favorite for my ferrets and Is so easy to fill ,doesn't leak &I don't know what sorcery is behind the always clean , no sludge or slime on wall status but rentacoop gravity waterer are the ultimate best I've ever used in my 45 years of using waterers!

I got this bottle for my bunny. The bottle does not leak however is difficult to take on off the cage as it spills any water leaf when needing to clean it. Otherwise the bottle is much better than the usually metal ones with the roller balls

I use these for my rabbits. They have clogged up but I think it is the rabbit that might be doing that. They are great though!

I love that this water system! It can be mounted on the cage high enough that the rabbits can easily drink but no more washing out the water bowl before you can refill it. The flip top makes filling a snap.

Ebenezer likes this water bowl and I like that he can't tump it when he gets put out with me.

This is overall sturdy, with plenty of water storage (at least for guinea pigs). However once you have it attached to the cage, the silver bowl is difficult to clean. I wish it could be unattached without having to disassemble the whole thing. My guineas drink well from
It but the small bowl gets filthy and it is such a pain to clean.

This water bottle actually worked great for my pet rats! I was a little skeptical of the design at first, but was eager to give it a try because I’ve had issues with standard water bottles leaking in the past. Not only did this product, not leak, the rats did not have to Deal with the little metal ball that controls the flow of most standard water bottles. This bottle had decent capacity for my two boys, I only had to fill it a couple times a week or top it off every other day or so. I would definitely purchase this product again!

If you are considering buying this for a guinea pig…DON’T! It’s a seemingly ingenious solution to the never-ending leaking of water bottles and soaking of litter. But the guinea pig needs to put their forelegs on the edge of the bowl in order to drink from it, even if installed onto the lowest opening of the cage wall. Within minutes, the bowl water is filthy of poop and litter, tracked on their paws. The only way to clean this out without removing the entire bottle is to dump the bowl into a cup and wipe out the bowl. It’s time consuming and consistently disgusting. We’re reverting to the leaking, litter-soaking water bottle. Who’d have thought that would be the preferred option?!

This worked perfect for our ferret while we were on vacation. She likes to bathe in her water dish daily, so I left that and added this to ensure she would have some clean drinking water while we were gone. There was still plenty of water after a week.

It's just ok. I wasn't happy with setup or ease of use. It's all plastic except the cup itself. It has to be installed in parts to get it through the cage wire unless you cut the cage. I ended up using for about a week and then moved on. I have rabbits in a rabbitry setting for context of this review.

I don’t like how it attached to the cage. The cup always has crap in it. Getting it off is not easy. I am going back to traughs on the cage side

I wish they would develope a quick-release version of this, and potentially with a drain valve on the outside of the tank if the need arises to drain it. The plug on the inside of the tank is impractical, as you must first remove the red cover for your hand to even fit inside, and you risk having water overfill the top when putting your hand inside too. I do see that they've invented a liner cup for easier cleaning of the bowls, but it isn't metal. My rabbits chew. Metal is preferable.

Pros: my rabbits can't know it over if they get the zoomies, and the bowls are easier for them to use than the ball-style bottles. Once it is installed, it's been great, as long as hay doesn't get in the tank or cup.

I bought this for my rabbit and while it didn't come with the wire holder, the spring one works okay. The missing holder is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.
It's easy to clean and easy to fill, so much better than the bottle style. It doesn't leak, and the amount of water that the bowl holds is perfect, because my bunny has a tendency to bump it around a lot and it doesn't splash water everywhere. The size is great, bunnies drink a lot of water! I'm buying a second one for the office, when he goes to work with me.

Overall a great water bottle for my guinea pigs! We have had trouble with them chewing on the plastic type bottles/bowls and don't like the drip dispensers as they ALL seem to leak after a bit. This should solve both issues (chewing and leaking)!!! The only problem is that the wire to attach it to the cage was missing from my order (the spring and clips were included). Waiting for seller reply and will update my review appropriately.

**Update: seller was very quick to reply and resolve concerns. We absolutely are loving this water bottle. No more water leaking everywhere!! And I think my guinea pigs are actually drinking more too!!

I bought this water bottle at the end of my rope, so done with the bottles that had the "anti leak" nozzles with the balls that constantly got stuck. Rats are hard on water bottles and I even tried rabbit nozzles with the pins they're supposed to push. Those clogged in days and no longer released water. But water bowls weren't an option because of pushed bedding, urine in dishes, and my rat insists on bathing in them. This has been the PERFECT solution, installed for a month with no issues and insanely easy cleanup when dirty.

I bought one of these to try out with our new baby rats because traditional water bottles have a bad tendency to leak and I didn't want to deal with the mess and potential mold issues. This water bottle works perfectly for rats (and likely most rodents). They are able to easily drink from it and even bathe their hands and faces, which they greatly enjoy doing. Rats are especially big on water play. These are easy to clean to, we just use a rag to wash out the basin at the bottom each day and it self-refills perfectly with fresh water. I absolutely love how it works. And it was easily installed to the cage in a way that it's secure and I don't have to worry about it moving around a bunch. We liked it so much we bought two more for our rabbits who were getting in the bad habit of flipping their water dishes and making huge messes. They picked up how to use them right away and figured out after the first day there wouldn't be any more flipping. Now we've got no more mess or water waste, it's great!

I tried everything with my Guinea Pigs. Bowls get tipped over, or filled with bedding. Water bottles with the ball bearing stopper work for awhile, but eventually start leaking and flood the cage. Sick of trying things to give them clean water. The pigs chew everything. The metal cup ends that problem.

It is a bit difficult to clean out the bowl because they still manage to get bedding up into the bowl somehow and the way the bowl connects makes it difficult to clean. I had a small kitchen Turkey baster I tried that does pretty well but the tip was too big to get all the water out. Use it to suck the messy water out, then just wipe out the bowl. Switched to a 10ml eye dropper because it’s smaller and does a better job of getting almost all the water out of the cup. Easy and quick solution.
