The best water dispenser for chickens!

Update after about 2 months of use:
Leaks bad!! No adjustment helps. Ended up having to put a pan underneath because the water leaking makes such a mess. Also, it is a pain to fill due to the bucket not wanting to sit flat on the ground.

I was looking for a great quality water dispenser for my chickens. I heard about this company. I'm so glad I decided to purchase this item. I did feel $50 was a bit much but I was happily surprised when the product came with 3 extra cups and directions on our to make another! My chickens took to it right away. It is so nice to not have disgusting water to clean out everyday. Easy to fill. Very happy with it. And no worries my girls are being moved into their new big coop soon!

Better than expected for use with ducks and hens

Edit: I realized a lot of people are complaining about leaking and other issues that I’d like to comment on. We have not had a leaking problem. You do need to tighten the cups..... also, an extra was cup was in the package when delivered. There is a spring mechanism inside the cups, I almost lost one when I was giving it a deep clean. So don’t lose that! Also the design of this waterer is to be filled with a hose through the top. The top is extremely hard to take on and off, so if you are expecting to carry a five gallon bucket back and forth to a faucet to fill up, this is not the waterer for you - just stick a hose through the hole in the top! Don’t take it on and off! That’s crazy. Why are you trying to carry 5 gallons of water anyway? Geez.

Original: This was better than expected. There is a hole in the top for easy fill-up with a hose, so I’ve run a hose out to it permanently (see photo). It also came with a triangle perching deterrent. We used a bungee to keep it in place on top of a cinder block because the force of the hose could knock it over if empty.

The drinking cups are wide enough for duck beaks, although the ducks would make a mess and they could clog the cups with debris. We used this for several months for 5 ducks and 5 chickens. We would need to fill it daily for them and sometimes pull the debris out of the cups. Ducks have gone to their permanent home, so I expect the water to last a long time and stay clean between filling for only 5 chickens.

The cups did freeze with water with a few cold spells we had at the end of winter, but no damage.

    Highly recommended.

Cup attachments get knocked loose and leak

I wanted to love this waterer so bad. I’ve had it less than two months and am constantly having to retighten the cup attachments. I can only tighten them so much before the plastic wing nuts pop loose or the rubber gaskets on the front of attachments lose their integrity.I also have the stand adjusted higher and it slowly falls after time.I love that the water inside stays cleaner and the overall concept, but unfortunately it’s not working like I had hoped.

    Love !

We bought this needing more drinking access for our girls. Three chickens now 8 and they love it. Having the cups and nipples is great! Seems to be working nicely and they can't roost on top of their water!

    Works well but overpriced

This waterer is effective for my needs but incredibly over priced for what you get!

Love it, but disappointing for winter watering

Love Rent a Coop feeder and water products!!! My only complaint is this did not come with the nipples for cold weather —- and what is really disappointing is that the other rent a coop nipples did not fit to replace the cups (the hole is bigger now)

Its good, but wish the handle was more sturdy.

I so wanted to give this product 5 stars. And bucket/water cups it is 5 star worthy, but the handle on the bucket is where my problem lies. I actually have started a return and replace item. The handle literally split into 2 right in the center. It tore right in half. I received the bucket on the 16th of July. It took me a few days to actually hang it and start to use. The hens love the little cups, and they work great! I just could never feel like I could keep the bucket completely full of water. The weight from the water, the handle just wasn't sturdy enough. I feel like if you have a 5 gallon bucket you should probably use the metal bucket handle vs a very bendy plastic handle. The bucket lid does keep the water clean and the cone on the top definitely keeps the girls from jumping on top. 5 gallons is a great size, but the handle just isn't built for the size of 5 gallons. Now I wish I had bought the 2 gallon bucket instead. Hopefully this replacement is built a bit more sturdy and this handle was just a fluke. Will update once I get replacement and use for a bit! :)

    Trusted brand.

Happy with this. There are removable cups inside each of the wells which allow for easier cleaning. However, I just wish my finger around each well and dump it to clean. I had a nipple only water, but I was afraid the birds were not getting enough. No proof of that, I just felt that this would be better for them.

    Great purchase

I bought the waterer and feeder and rosy are great, I had a slight issue with the auto waterer that customer service went above and beyond to promptly take care of. Both the waterer and feeder are of good quality and my Hens figured them out right away. Will definitely purchase from them again in the future.

    Leaks after 1 month, useless

Initially this seemed like a good water option for our chickens. However, after just over 1 month of use it leaks so badly that it needs to be filled up every day. Very overpriced and poor design. A waste of money.

Bigger cups that first one I ordered

Cups for waterer were larger than the 1st one I received. So I ordered smaller cups, size difference, in cups didn't hold water because of that. Very upset, same company, should have been the same size holes changing out. Really shouldn't have received the bigger water cups anyways. Dirt gets in the bigger one's and stays in the little water cup. Not what I ordered

    Product works great!

I know some people have had problems with this product, but mine has worked great! No complaints! Since the cups hang down below the bottom of the container, I followed the suggestion of another purchaser and put this unit on a concrete block, which has worked out well. The unit is easy to clean and the plug in the top makes it easy to add water each day without removing the whole top. I have found spraying the cups with water from a hose is the easiest way to get any collected dirt out. Would highly recommend and would buy it again.

    Better than expected

Was surprised to find both cup waterers and nipple waterers included with this unit. Easy to assemble, watertight. The anti roost cone does not sit securely, afraid it may blow off on windy days.

    This thing is wonderful!!

I change it weekly, works great. Have had no issues with this product. Chickens always have access to water. I clean the little cups every couple of days. Highly recommend.

    Insulated

I wish it was insulated to keep the water cold during the summer times here in Texas.

This is the third Rent a Coop waterer I have purchased. This makes my job so much easier. I can fill the water container and not have to carry water or refill it every day. I have 15 chickens and I only need to fill it twice a week. It is easy to clean and does not build up dirt or mold like other water units I have tried. The peaked cap on top keeps the chickens from roosting on top. The bonus? This newest model has liners in the cup. To clean them simply pull the liner out. No need to unscrew the cup and remove it to clean. I love this new feature.
