Customers praised this durable poultry carrier for easy assembly and sturdy construction. "Very sturdy once snapped in place" with "thick plastic, not flimsy." Holds 6-8 birds comfortably and cleans easily. However, several noted the top sliding door can stick and be difficult to open. Great value for transporting chickens, quail, and other poultry safely.

    Awesome crates!

Crates work great for delivering quail. They are very sturdy once snapped in place. Doors lock tight and secure. Great construction and decent price compared to other! Great product.
I do have one question how many quail should fit in these if in there for only a few hours?

Easy, Fast Assembly - BUT CHECK ONE THING FIRST!

These crates are sturdy and easy to assemble, BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE you have lined up the middle clip before snapping the sides together. You can clip the outer clips without the middle clip in the correct position... so you need to make sure you have the correct side in the correct orientation before snapping to assemble. Once you assemble, de-assembly is not easy. So please slow down and do it right the first time. It is easy... just line up the clip (see the yellow arrow in the photo) before snapping together. I can make one of these crates in under 2 minutes... but speed is not your friend... check twice.. snap once.

Simplified the last day. Eventually worth the price.

I bought four of these to transport chickens to the butcher. They went together very easily. They are sturdy enough to handle the weight of the birds and held eight broilers perfectly. I would say eight is the max for that type of bird. They are relatively expensive but much simpler that using pet carriers or anything else. They also save time and effort at my butcher because the butcher doesn’t require me to transfer the birds to the holding pens first. I can stack the crates in the same area and they’ll grab birds directly from the crate. These crates have made the last day much simpler. Over time, they’ll be worth the price.

There was one minor fault with one of the latches during install. It appeared the plastic wasn’t formed right. It did not seem to negatively impact the strength of the wall/base connection but should have been caught by a quality control person.

These crates are excellent for my racing pigeons with a little bit of modification. The birds can actually eat and drink from inside the cage, which makes it convenient for two day shipping.

Affordable, durable, collapsable. Good investment for poultry owners, breeders or farmers

These worked great for transporting our meat birds for processing. Each hold about a half dozen 8–10-pound birds comfortably. Very easy to spray clean with a power washer and they feel high enough quality that they will last a lifetime with proper care.

Solid crates, easy setup, great value

Overall, I’m happy with these poultry crates. They were easy to assemble and feel sturdy once put together. I don’t use the cage flooring.

A couple of small downsides: the top door can be a bit hard to open, and the side door doesn’t latch quite as easily as I’d like. Neither issue is a dealbreaker, but they’re worth noting.

For the price, these are great crates and do exactly what they’re supposed to. They stack well, are practical, and offer good value overall. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for functional poultry carriers without spending a fortune.

    Quality for money

It came not damaged. Looked at instructions snapped together with no tools in 5 minutes. Haven't used yet but seemed very sturdy. Quality felt good for the money easy to assemble and use

    Worth Every Dime

Folks, I took chickens up to my best friend all the way in Iowa. I raised some exciting kinds of chicks for my best friend, and I had to transport them cleanly and safely. I drive a Porsche SUV. This is the best pen ever, If you do any type of transport I recommend wholeheartedly. The birds were safe and my car was clean and undamaged. RentACoop has THE best products. You can trust them for sure.

    Bestway to transport adult chickens!!

Easy to load birds. Lots of room for 10-12 Broiling chickens. Very sturdy construction. Lots of air circulation for the birds. My only advice is to read the assembly instructions.

    Great chicken transport crate

I love this crate, absolutely great quality thick plastic, not flimsy. I had to move and used this to move our hens. If I needed another one of these I would absolutely purchase this again. Easy to assemble, easy to clean, etc. The only negative is the top door where its hard to open.

    Solid

I like these crates. We have 5 of them and have used them for 2 separate processing days. Our birds dressout around 5-6 lbs. These crates snugly hold 6 live birds. The only thing I don’t like is the sliding top hatch. It doesn’t slide or open easily. The benefit is that it locks down securely when transporting the chickens. I will probably buy one more

Worth the price if you take poultry production at all seriously.

These are great. If you let your birds get to the 7# hanging weight size, it is a little small, but for everything else, fantastic. Easy cleaning, gets tossed around, survived a run-in with a SXS. Well worth it if you are doing a lot of birds. If you do 50 a year, probably not, but more than a couple hundred then a few of these are excellent.

Great poultry crate, but I have one suggestion..

It’s a very well built crate.
The size is perfect for a single person to handle and very easy to clean.
The only potential weakness that I found is the snaps or whatever you call them that hold the crate together.
I suggest zip tying the corners, especially on the bottom

    Fits 8 Chickens

We were able to get 8 16-week-old American Bresse Roos into this to transport for processing. Top slider was a little stiff, but I believe it will loosen up and slide easier. Made moving the birds much easier and quicker. Easiest if you put the bird in head first and hold the feet.

    Love the doors!

I am so glad we chose this design... chickens are unpredictable and it is a big help to be able to move them from many areas without hurting them... no unreachable areas with the doors on this model!
Be sure th click them latched good before moving the carrier. It takes a bit of practice but we are still happy with these!

    Perfect for Pheasants

We use these crates to carry pheasants to the field when we host hunts for youth or veterans. They were super easy to assemble, and they hold up with no issues. And it's convenient to put the birds in and take out of the crate with the many openings. There were no escapees! Big thumbs up!

Overall great, only problem we had was the top sliding door sticks a bit

Works as expected, surprisingly sturdy, my only complaint is that the top sliding door sticks and can be really difficult to get open.

Works but is definitely a hassle if you setup wrong.

So I was very unsure about these as I have never had one before. I bought 3 to start then another 3 later. I wasn't sure if I could fit as many chickens as it claims. I was able to put 4 Cornish cross that are around 7-10lbs in them. I probably could have squeezed another in, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It's definitely a tight fit at a high level and was a little difficult to get the chickens in through the top door. I'll probably look for bigger ones if I ever need to buy more.

Also if you assemble wrong use 2 needle nose pliers to pry each of the clips back gently. Then have another person pull up.

Also the pads that came with it I was expecting silicone not cardboard. It didn't say silicone but I just imagined it would be. They are worthless ians still lead to a giant mess when unloading. All in all though it worked for what I needed.

    Great crate! Be careful of...

So over all these are still worthy of a 5 star rating. I have two and use them constantly. They are the best product out there for use with pheasants and chukars. With a little more attention they could be perfect.

Watch out for adult pheasants popping out the top slider. When they jump up to fly they have enough power to pop open the slider. The first time it happened I thought I must not have closed it right, but the second time it was definitely closed. Now I just use the side doors and zip tie the top for reinforcement.

The little plastic parts that keep the door closed break off you are not very careful opening and especially closing them. Again I just use the other door now and zip tie the broken door.

Yes, I would buy them again. They are a great size. They are easy to keep clean. Easy to hold during transport. Easy to count birds in them. I really like how they stack and secure each other in place.

When the price drops back down ($50ish), I will get more.

Well made and easy to use.

Easily assembles (but do make sure you're putting panels in the right way before clicking them into position, as they are a bear to remove). The plastic seems tough, hopefully it ages well. The sliding top lid can stick a bit, which is a mild inconvenience when you're trying to handle birds but not a big deal. And the lid and doors were slightly smaller than I might have liked for my big Cornish Cross chickens, but it worked fine and small doors have some advantages too.

I bought a few to test and will likely buy more based on their performance thus far.

    Worked very well.

Held 6 very large chickens comfortably. I was hoping they would fold for storage but they dont. I didn't think to check the description for this prior to purchasing because all the ones I've used in the past folded down. Nonetheless not a deal breaker as I only needed 2. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Loved that it had multiple doors. Clean up was a breeze just had to hose off. Interlocking stackable a plus. Ordering 2 more.

great design, easy to put together

This is a solid transport coop, and incidentally, cats love it too! My 15 yr old son and I just popped this thing together. You simply align the walls and snap the pegs into the holes. It does take some pressure to make it "click" but once together it's very, very solid. You could easily lift it with a couple of chickens or smaller foul without it falling apart. Not sure if I'd try that with my 15 lb cat, but he does fit in it and seems quite happy! Basically this thing is like a milk carton, but with two side doors and a sliding door on the top. Other uses for this thing...I could easily see planting potatoes in it....like seriously, using it to store toys, the comfort pad included would make a nice play top for putting together legos or Thomas the Train toys. WOW would this make a fantastic Barbie Doll house! You could use cardboard to set up walls for all the rooms. I'm seeing all sorts of amazing uses for this all purpose crate with doors. I mean it's stackable too, so if you wanted to use these as quail pens, what a great value. All in all this is very well designed and extremely useful for all sorts of things

Very functional but do have two of you to assemble

Oh, it's not that assembly is difficult but you may want someone to hold down one end while you line up all the spots so when you push down everything falls into place. (There are many a time I wish I owned a third arm, this was one of them!)

The crate is lightweight yet sturdy, and easy to handle and transport your chickens within.
