My Bantams & I love this feeder

This was a game changer from the 8 hole chick feeder I was using till they were 3 weeks old. They were wasting so much food flicking it out and when they would be scratching about the bedding would end up in the holes. I was having to clear out the bedding that had fallen into the food constantly so they could find their food. I have never had to clean out the bedding with this feeder. I have Bantams and these feeder holes are perfect for their smaller heads. If you have full size chickens you will want the larger feed holes.

    Good overall

I really like this the only thing is that they can't get to the food on the very bottom.

Chickens make less mess and less waste with these.

Before buying this, I bought treadle feeders for my flocks thinking those would be the best anti-rodent solution. But it turns out, chickens throw so much food out of the treadle feeder, the rats come to feast UNDER them so I constantly had to clean up the mess. They don’t seem to be able to make such a mess with these, and if they do, I can easily put a removable tray under it for faster cleanup. The only drawback of switching is that the treadle feeders could hold 3 days of food. These have to be filled daily, but at least we’re not feeding rats now.
