Love this feeder. Chickens dont scratch the feed out and it keeps the run clean. Holds days and days worth of food for my 4 birds. I mounted with screws and like how solid it is. Bought the matching waterer as well.

Love these feeders and so do my chickens:) they took to them right away and I love that they can store a significant amount of food and are also compact and don't take up space. I also got the waterers as well. We have two of each set up outside and 1 of each set up in their coop just in case there's not so great weather and they are inside.

We introduced our 3 week old chicks and they took to it quickly after some modifications. I added a step stool for them so now they are able to reach inside. For the first few days I created a pile of food inside the feeder to intice them (they also had access to a bowl of food as well). After a week they can get to the feed on their own and I don't have to worry about spilled food or a mess inside the feeder.

After a week they can get to the feed on their own and I don't have to worry about spilled food or a mess inside the feeder.

I have been looking for a vertical feeder and waterer and have struggled to find any that come with everything I need (no drills necessary!) As well as are functional and affordable. I purchased this feeder (and also the matching waterer seen in my pics) which were both installed so easily, and came with all necessary parts, and exterior mounting kit to hang from the outside of the coop. When I filled the feeder, I did have to stick my hand in the little white hole where they eat out of, and pull some of the feed inside to allow more to fall down, but I did this to increase the visible mound of food so they would see more easily to learn how to use it. I'm confident once they learn how to eat from it, this step may not be necessary every time. Although honestly, it is an easy step for such a convenient system. This also looks like it will be way better at preventing pests than my previous gravity feeder.

The waterer is also exactly what I have been looking for and have struggled to find. I have been looking for a vertical waterer with nipple system, to hang inside the coop to spare floor space and mess. This RentACoop waterer came with every last thing I needed to be able to hang it in my coop, and also came with two watering cups as well as two nipples, and they even included one spare of each, and a kit to mount from the outside of the coop, if you want to. This went up so easily, and was filled so easily, and the chickens learned how to use it very quickly. Some figured it out on their own by their curious pecks, but others I picked up, and tapped their beaks against the nipple so they could feel the water come out. Once one figured it out, the rest followed.

Nice thick plastic, well built, looks nice, easy to install. My chicken took right to it. I use pellets and the level in the feeder is low so a chicken has to reach down inside to reach the food. This is why it's a no waste feeder. To encourage my chicken to use and stick her head in I filled the inner tube through the outer hole so she could see the feed and acccess easily. Soon she was sticking her head in to eat. I use pellets.

I have some 15 week old RI Red hens that love the water-er, but are not yet fully into the feeder. I'm guessing more mature hens will appreciate the feeder. My young hens prefer an open, group feeder for now. I'll gradually remove the open feeders when the hens are fully grown so that I can get more use out of these.
12-18-20 Edit added - The hens are now about 6 months and laying. They still prefer an open feeder but use this thing daily. It is a good buy. They still love the water-er and often empty it by playing and splashing. I'm happy.

Sturdy product, it holds a lot, and I like the ability to hang the food in the coop. Major issue is the food doesn’t automatically come down, so each feeding I have to reach my hand in the bottom hole and pull the food out for my ducks to access it.

Love this company and everything they make wish they would sponser my farm lol it's strong good quality nice for outdoors and indoors big chickens or baby chicks . I love the design, ease, and value is not to bad. It's for food so no leaks

Great way to save feed waste, and it keeps the coop much cleaner / leaves more room for them in space. Keeps water out and food fresh and the chickens took to it quickly! Also got the water feeder and highly recommend !

I have had these for about a week now and they are wonderful. Very easy to mount. The company sends everything you need so they can be mounted very easily. I had some homemade feeders and the wild birds (sparrows) were eating very well, now they are leaving my girls food alone. Absolutely love them.
