I'm honestly disappointed. I got this feeder to hopefully keep the feed from getting all over but it doesn't. It holds feed, more than I'd expected. Seems well constructed. But I will be looking for a better feeder that actually keeps the feed off the ground.
Manufacturer needs to improve their product packaging as it does not protect the item. The front right leg/foot was dented in, resulting in a gap that would have caused crumble food to leak out. I was able to bend it back in place.But sturdier packaging on the manufacturers end would prevent this type of damage (since the product itself is not cheap). I do wish this manufacturer offered product specific legs or a stand.
I can definitely tell a difference in the amount of feed I've been purchasing to replenish since transitioning to this feeder. I just purchased a second one for my flock of 24 so no one is waiting in line for their turn. Sometimes the gravity fill isn't the greatest and I have to pull the food out to get it to flow again but I don't think it has a major impact on the chickens.
Over the years I've bought five of the 25lb feeders and two of the 10lb feeders. Most are attached to stands I made from 2x4s and are fully exposed to the elements — sun, rain, and snow. Sometimes I get a little bit of rainwater coming in through the mounting holes, but it's never enough to spoil the feed and never from the front. Most importantly, my chickens don't spill any feed on the ground!Recently I needed to add a few more 10lb feeders and thought I'd try to save a few bucks with a similarly designed feeder available from many anonymous Chinese sellers on Amazon. In those the feed sits higher and two separate flocks of chickens made quick work of putting all the feed on the ground. I'll be sending those back and ordering a few more of these.

While I think this feeder is sturdy and does prevent massive food waste, the gravity feed doesn’t work wonderfully. I find myself pushing food down every morning to fill it back up on the bottom trough. I wish the little metal insert was removable as well- it doesn’t hold to the magnet on the side well. The lid holds very well by that magnet. It doesn’t hold the job, but I would look at another option next time that kept the food coming down.
I purchased this feeder for my grow out coop. It was easy for me to quickly put together and hang myself. My little ladies had no issues figuring out how to eat our of it. Now I want one for my old ladies!
Finally a Feeder that works ! My hens had no hesitation finding and eating from this FEEDER. NO spillage, the feed level/line staying lower than most. Clean and Tidy saving me MONEY on spilled /wet grain VERY happy, try try try until you get it right. Mine arrived no damage extremely easy to hang/put together. Heavy and appears to be a good quality. There were a few other Models, perhaps different brand where people complained of feed line being to high.... I picked this one because the feed stays low within the Trough. So far I couldn't be happier !
Solidly built, large capacity. Keeps feed dry. Allows us to leave the chickens when we leave for trips for up to a week without needing to refill the food. I bought 2 of the large models for 20 hens and mounted them on the coop. Highly recommend.

I bought this because I had tried several other feeders already that had not been successful because my chickens wouldn’t use them. The ones that they did use were not good at keeping out moisture so I was ending up feeding them inside of the chicken house which I don’t really like to do it makes a huge mess and attracts rodents. My chickens aren’t particularly stupid or anything, but the other feeders that I tried that you put into the side of a bucket and so forth my chickens, just couldn’t figure them out and wouldn’t use them. This they started using the second I mounted it to the side of the chicken house. I love that the top on it is magnetic so I don’t have to worry about it because I live in windy area up on a hill. I got a big one and then got a smaller one that I can mount down lower because I have a silkie who’s really short. Excellent design, easy to mount and my chickens love it.
This feeder was hung inside a roomy coop on opposite end of nest boxes & raised perches. Windows provide light so feeder/feed is easily seen even on cloudy days.This feeder replaced a standard round hanging galvanized metal feeder. A few hens loved to spread seed on the ground and problem was out of control.Directions are clear. Per manufacturer I skipped adding the rainguard because the feeder is inside a structure. I did add washers to the mounting screws to create a small gap between the wood wall and the feeder in order to better allow the lid to seal down. Love the fact that the lid is magnatized.At first the chickens ignored the feeder because of all the feed on the ground. After about five days I addressed issue of non-use by manually overfilling the front of the feeder to increase feed and feed visibility. I also added dried mealworms for them to see.Once they saw the mealworms they began using the feeder. For a week I did reinforce behavior by randomly adding a few mealworms, or sunflower seeds, to further entice them to come to feeder.Now they all eat from the feeder at will.I will definitely save money on feed.The only concern I have is not if the feeder will clog with tiny particles but how easy will it be to clear out the tiny debris. This is a very minor concern. In my experience all chickens feeders clog, or fill with tiny debris, because chickens naturally peck at their feed. At worst I suspect I will have to use the small shop vac.Recommend.
This feeder’s size is perfect and since this was purchased with the intent of setting up a secondary feeding station within our coop/run area, it perfectly holds the right amount of food without taking up a ton of space. Elevating it off of the ground via attachment to wall/metal fencing, ensures that it stays clean and dry. Our birds have refused other similar style feeders in the past (hanging tub feeders, with round holes for their head to access feed, etc.) and they did not hesitation to use this trough style design within minutes of installing it! Perfect for our needs 🐓
Crumbles get stuck, have to use a stick to push through so they can reach the feed. Chickens like it, when they can get to the food that is.
Works well, chickens figured out how to use it quickly. Has kept the food dry in the rain. The largest one i ordered arrived dented but is functional
So far this has been a great addition to our coop. It was pricy but the waste reduction will make up for it in no time!Our chickens used to spread feed all over the floor of the coop and mostly ignore it. It was a large waste of feed. We have had this feeder for about 2 weeks and we love it. It revealed just how much of our feed was going to waste previously. I have seen reviews stating that this feeder isn't waterproof and I cannot attest to that since ours is inside of the coop and not exposed to the elements. Also, people complained about the feed not flowing down to the feed tray and that has not happened yet with ours, although we only use pellets, and I could foresee crumbles being more of an issue for that problem.
It came with a dent and a footprint on it. I thought about returning it but it was still able to be put together and I wiped away the print. Other than that, it appears to be good quality. The magnets on the lid work well. Seems sturdy and likely to keep rodents at bay. It’s not terribly heavy but with food added, will definitely add some weight. The price seems decent for how large it is and to be made out of metal.
