RentACoop Secure Non-Adhesive PVC (S.N.A.P) Watering System Starter Kit

The hole saw needed for the shut off valve in your own barrel uses a 35mm hole saw (not 28mm as it says in product description). We were unable to cut a larger one cleanly after using the wrong smaller size, so had to purchase a new barrel.

It took a few tries to drill holes in the pvc pipe without the bit taking off too much. Finally learned we needed to keep the pipe warm, using a blow dryer right before helped. Also used masking tape where drilling holes I think to keep drill from walking.

Once finally done, system worked great, no leaking. We used a couple more elbow pieces than came in the kit, and it was easy to order them separately.

Look this is working for me. Its great, but I would if I were the company continue to work this model so it will last. I got it working without leaking but. It could have gone either way. Some pieces are just to flimsy to last. In a year or two I will be looking to replace im sure. Shame too, its pretty great. Just almost china-ish in quality. I would pay more for a higher quality model. So take that for what its worth.

Works perfectly and keep my chickies with fresh clean water

This set is AMAZING. I’m a new chicken keeper, but knew I didn’t want to refill water every few days. I have a flock of 5 and use three auto fill cups. I tried the water nipples first, but my girls didn’t like them. I love that the set came with both, so I switched them out and have had zero issues since. Water stays fresh. I can twist the cups upside down for easy cleaning, as needed. Easy set up. Lots of YouTube videos out there with instructions and set up ideas too. You won’t regret this purchase!

Love the system no more scrubbing buckets dealing with algae ran a waterline to them put this system in had some trouble at first, but instead of using the 9.5 mm drill bit provided I stepped it down to 23/64 then the nipple with drip cup threaded scripted nice in firmly without stripping out easy like the 9.5 was doing. It’s tight enough to secure into the piping and not put too much pressure on the spring for the nipple where they would just leak from being too tight too much pressure on the spring. So if you get it, get a 23/64th drill bit and you’ll be golden.

Concept looks great but in reality it didn't work well. The cups leaked where they screw into the PVC pipe. Tried it a second time and it did the same thing. After contacting Rentacoop got no real help so I fixed it with clear silicone. Then when I hooked up the water supply the float valve didn't shut it off and it overflowed. Not happy with the whole setup. I'm having to fill the tank by hand which defeats the purpose of an automatic waterer.

Price point is a bit high. Would be a lot cheaper to make yourself but sometimes the sacrifice in time isn’t worth it. I’ve bought multiple products from this company. They standby their stuff and will always make things right.

I ordered this refill kit for my chickens hoping that I wouldn't have any issues with leakage. So far so good the build quality is great. I appreciate the concept and design as well as the ease of use. Once I got it set up it was much easier to understand how everything worked.

The instructions (QR code / digital only) didn't mention anything about inserting rubber gaskets inside of the hubs, nor did my kit come with enough. Took me a while to figure out why there were so many leaks which was very frustrating. Fortunately, I also ordered extra hubs so I had access to some more gaskets. When I called their support number for help during installation, nobody answered or ever called me back.

Installing the float valve required a wrench and a lot of elbow grease, I suspect due to some miscasting of the plastic threading on the valve.

Once I finally got everything set up, I'm happy with it. The quail don't like the nipple waterers which is too bad, as the cups are much more annoying to clean out.

Easy to set up, works great, the bucket is pretty small and we made some adjustments to switch it to a much bigger bucket but everything is well made, durable, works great.

If you have seen some of my reviews I love the RentACoop snap systems as they are easy to install as well as disassemble if need be. No Glue Mess. This complete system is a snap to install and anyone can do it. Great Product that keeps my chickens hydrated at all times.

I don't have an issue with the capacity, durability or ease of cleaning, that's all good. Once I finally get this thing put together, I am sure it will be functional. This product is very difficult to assemble and doesn't come with any instructions, just vague pictures on the box. Never had any products from this company leak. Looks to hold about a gallon of water and if you can actually get it built, it should function fine. Two stars off for lack of instructional insight, incorrect wrenches to install the interior plumbing and brass fixture that attached to the garden hose, plugs the difficulty of assembly. Even my mechanically minded son couldn't put it together. Now, I have to wait for hubby to return from a business trip to get it working. Normally love Rent-a-Coop products, not this one.

I haven't been able to set this system up yet because we don't have the PVC piping needed, nor the tees, coupler, end caps, and elbows necessary to make the system work. I certainly don't mind having to source or DIY some of the elements, but found a different approach to be more helpful for our particular set-up. RentACoop's Sip Station line was easier for us to DIY because we only needed to obtain buckets, rather than sourcing parts from 2 or more locations. I might save the S.N.A.P. kit for a future need, such as setting up a separate quail pen, chick brooder, or sick/broody bay for hens.

At first this looked like a great labor saving option and installation was fairly easy and quick. Then I noticed the water in the tank turns green, which is surprising because we are on well water and I don’t add anything to it.
Then comes the hard part~ since it’s mounted to enable gravity feed and the pipes are connected, it’s not possible to take it down to give it a good clean, so the water has to be scooped out manually to get to the sides and the green algae growing on it.

Would I recommend it? No, not with the way it currently works. Reaching out to the manufacturer didn’t help much either, they didn’t offer any solutions or even a refund.
This is unfortunate because I like the concept.

This is a great starter kit for someone who just wants to get a functional and non-leaky watering system set up without having prior knowledge of installing plumbing or watering systems. All that is needed to add is PVC piping and water. My chickens are already familiar with the rentacoop t-nipples so it was easy for them to get going. It also takes up less room than a traditional standalone waterer. The colors are great since chickens are attracted to red - so that made it easy for them to get curious about where to get their water from. I would put the lines under a shaded part of your run because the sun on the pvc piping will heat up the water. In true fashion, rentacoop is helping making chicken ownership accessible to all by making the things we need to own them easy to use, easy to clean, attractive, and even fun.
I will update my review if anything should change since I just set this up.

It took awhile to get installed. You will need to purchase PVC pipe. There are no instructions in the box so you will need to use the QR code on the box. I personally would rather have the paper as when my phone goes to sleep its a little annoying. I made sure I put it in a shaded area as in the south it gets really hot. It's like water in a water hose you have to let it run to cool the water. We will see down the road if it was worth all the work. The chickens had no issue finding this water source.

I have always loved RentACoop products and this set does not disappoint! Easy to install and use with tons of options for customization! I love that it comes with everything you need. Literally all you need to get is the PVC cut to size in order to make your custom chicken waterer. I set this up in about an hour and have since been worry-free about my chickens water source! Stop stressing about your birds water and get this set.

This is a very good kit as a stand alone setup meaning you can use everything provided to set up a good long term watering system, but it is also expandable like what we did with the kit by adding a small jump hose to the tank and added a constant water source to not have to fill the water tank. The kit has adapters that twist and lock into place with your supplied pipe. There are nice clamps that can be used with the wire structure of your coop.
This set up has made it to where I don't have to worry if my chickens have plenty of water. Nice kit, easy to use and easy to set up. Assembly and a little bit of skill and patience is definitely needed. Well worth doing!

I used it for my quail. Now they were always used to the standing type of waterer, so it took them some time to get used to it and be able to drink, but once I removed their old drinker, they started using this. It was very easy to install with the clips, and I attached it to the quail cages (I got a 4 level cage). My quail don't seem to like the nipple drinkers (or they're not smart enough to figure them out), so I used the cups, I think the cups are easier to understand. I had to raise them a bit so they don't poop in it, but are still able to drink from them, which is a fine balance .... hard to find that sweet spot that works for most of them! All in all this is a great system, doesn't take that long to install, and comes with all the parts you need except the PVC pipe. Due to me using it on a cage, I didn't need much PVC pipe either. Love the system, and it works like a charm! Thank you very much, I would buy this again and highly recommend it!

I have a few chickens in a chicken tractor. I got this for the tractor. It set up quickly, and saves me a lot of time.

This is a great automatic chicken feeder. If you have chickens or are thinking about getting chickens, then you know that clean water is very important. It is also important to keep water at all times for chickens so that they lay better. This is a great system with all you need (besides piping and hose) to have fresh unlimited supply of water to birds. Fairly easy to install and makes it much easier. Love that I have automated one more chicken chore. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great quality watering system. It's easy to assemble, easy to clean. This is perfect starter size for a small flock. I've experienced no leakage with this system. Great value.
