These work perfect! Finally the quail are not messing their water up as quick AND we can go away for a weekend without needing a sitter.We installed some in a 5 gallon bucket, and some we turned into a tubed watering system using the diy kit by Rent-a-coop that has parts that let you attach the drinker cups through ½" hardware cloth, freeing up a ton of cage floor space. Highly recommend getting these. I do struggle a bit with emptying the inserts, specifically removing the inserts in order to clean them out. Need to practice that some, but it's a great concept. The bucket we just lift out hose oit the cups, works great, no need to remove the inserts when you do it that way!Oh fyi, make sure if you use a 5g bucket, that you raise it off the ground and level it as best you can, the cups fill by gravity, but if they are tilted back they think they are fuller than they are and tilted forward they can overflow!

Bought 6 cups last June for my birds. The cups arrived in good shape, but with different color - 4 of them are in dark red color, and 2 of them in a light red color close to pink. These cups are very convenient to install and very friendly to birds. My birds enjoyed them very much. But after about 5 months use, the 2 cups with light red color stopped working and water slowly leak out. But the 4 others in dark read color still work good. It would be great to have these cups with a better quality control.

We have tried other cups for the 5 gallon buckets and we are truly happy with how these ones work. It literally takes the guess work out of how the birds need to use them. We literally drilled our holes, screwed the cups in attached the little plastic nut on the other side added water and the cups automatically filled up an stay filled as they drink out of them. Plan to buy more and add them to all of our bird houses. Highly recommend...we did spend extra on the lids that you can attach and unscrew to make it easier to refill and keeps the debris out of main water.

I use these for my quail to keep a constant supply of water for them. In 5 colonies they work extremely well! In the one colony that is able to make the cage move/shake it leaked/spilled water. In colony 6, I had to go to a different model of watering system. Overall this is a quality product. I know in the winter months I will have to revert back to the old watering jugs, as these will freeze up. For the 9 months of the year that DON'T have freezing weather, these work well for me

As some one who has a flock of chickens and lives in the desert, I love these. I was able to turn 2 5 gallon buckets into waterers and it is so much better than the other waterers I've used. However, I bought 2 sets of these and a handful just stopped dispensing water. I've only had them for a year so that's kind of a bummer.

These are the top poultry cups on the market, recommend getting the covers if your birds stand in the cups. Shipping was fine, product comes boxed so no damage in transit.

I dont like most water cups. They break far to easilt

Just came down from the chicken coop which houses tiny baby chicks and sizes up from there. My husband distributed the 7 (of the 1st order-3 more orders on their way) cups depending on best usage. The baby chicks took to them immediately. Cups are 1" above the bottom of the bucket. Sits on 1 cinder block with another one angled in front of the water cup. The little ones jump on the angled cinder block so they can get the water from the cup sitting on the main cinder block. They love it. The bigger chickens are more skeptical of this new situation but will get the idea with a few more buckets in the area.I am absolutely thrilled with these water cups. Can't wait for the others to arrive. I would have liked to have had them several yrs ago as we put in the nipples; took them out then back in but the chickens did not seem to know what to do even after helping them.The cups are a miracle and we will not be without them as long as we have chickens and then the buckets with the water cups will go to whomever gets the chickens.Thank you so much for making these water cups and please do not stop. We added these to our chicken coop about a month ago and I was a bit worried that we would need to add a pressure reducer, but nope, not at all. We have a 50 Gal rain barrel giving the chickens fresh water 24/7 with these cups. All we needed was the rain barrel with hose attachment, a hose adapter to move the water into a rigid pvc pipe, a cap for the pipe, and specific pvc T pieces (made by this same mnfr). Took a couple hours to put it all together (not including waiting for the pipe glue to dry) and we haven't had any issues. We just flip the cups and wipe clean with a cloth. Every now and then the chicks decide to treat them like monkey bars and a cup overfills a bit, but even then we haven't had any leaks or spills in the coop so far.That said, I don't expect these to last more than a year or two, since plastic is plastic and they will start to break down in the weather and from continuous use eventually. But the price is not bad and they sent an extra cup in case one breaks so we have a backup.Finally, I doubt they will work for watering in winter as we get well below freezing for weeks at a time, but for 3 seasons these are great.

Purchased on May 11th, 2021. We were using a large dog bowl and filling it every other day. Not the best system but it worked for several years. got tired of finding dirty water from chickens kicking in dirt and scrubbing the bowl. These little water cups seemed perfect for us. The chickens just had to find the water in the cups, they didn't have to learn to peck a button or activate anything. We put these on a square bucket so the cups fit flush with no gaps on the bucket. You do have to be careful to place the cups above the ground so they are not touching it. We placed the bucket on a concrete block so there is plenty of clearance for the cups. Care is needed to not strip the cup's threads as it is all plastic. I hope this works as well in the winter. I'll revisit this after freezing weather arrives! So far the cups are working well and I am happy. Did I mention they send an extra cup for free? We haven't needed it but it is nice to have an extra just in case.

I replaced horizontal poultry nipples installed into buckets with these watering cups, and the size of the holes matched making the process super easy. The cups do refill with water and so far have not had any problems doing so, but the down side is this promotes algae growth. They are difficult to clean and even though I use a small cylindrical aquarium brush to reach in around the spring, it doesn't do a good job. There is even a ridge in the bottom of each cup that grows algae. The buckets normally hang with the cups lower than the bottom of the buckets, and when I need to lower them to the ground to clean and refill with water daily, it requires setting the buckets on a block of wood to keep the cups from getting damaged. Its very time consuming to clean the algae and dirt out of the cups because of the scrubbing to clean them, turning the buckets upside down, rinsing, and turning upside down again. I don't turn just the cups upside down because I think they might break. The RentACoop Company did add an extra cup to my order of 6 cups, which was a nice touch.

This is the second chicken care related product I've purchased from RentACoop. I initially 'found' their website while searching for a brooder. I ended up buying their 12" brooder and feather band for a batch of 16 chicks and was so incredibly impressed! Not only did the babies absolutely LOVE it but so did we. Set up and cleaning were a breeze and I've got the brooder safely packed away for the next new baby set. When it was time to solve the old malfunctioning watering cup system I was stoked to see that the family at the Coop had an excellement well thought out solution. Like the brooder, these cups have been obviously developed by folks that know their birds and the issues we all face in the world of poultry farming. I installed these cups (bonus extra cup is included in the package) on a 50 gallon drum and my little flock is super happy. There was literally no training needed for them to find their way, just the first lead girl taking a drink and they all were hooked. the only 'issue' I've had is a bit of leaking from a couple of the cups at their install point on the drum. Not a problem for star or rating reduction as I don't think the leaks have to do with the cups...?? Maybe an extra rubber washer or stronger threading at the stem could help? In any case, I plan to source all future chicken world items via RentACoop. Thank you family!!

I bought these as a new chicken mom. I did not know what to expect. Every part of chickens is a learning curve no matter how many videos you watch or how much you read. I came across a video about these and gave them a try. My husband drilled the holes in a 5-gallon bucket and we attached them. It has been a few months now. One is tipped kind off so it spills water out. That may be more our fault in installation than the product itself. I have a few of these from an off company in China and they are garbage. These are sturdy, well made, and obviously better designed. They even sent an extra one with the set in the case. The leaky one has not bothered me much at the moment but we will see what we did wrong before winter. I made a step stool for my bantams because we set them too high. Be sure you know where your chicken's hight is to make it comfortable for them to drink.There were great instructions and hints on how to use them. I tried to attach one to a small plastic storage container and it filled up once but did not refill. My husband said it had something to do with science and airflow, water, pressure blah blah blah. I will figure out a system next year for the new baby chicks with these. Great product.

UPDATE*:-I delay product reviews until i have a chance to thoroughly test.-Criteria: EZ to install & use, (no heavy lifting or bending, least muck to clean, low maint, durability, and then a versatile use design-I Got these 2 mo ago & gotta say, this is the best design I've found for versatility of coops or field use.—Super EZ to instal (only tool a drill & bit, took less than 5min on my first completed unit),—keeps the water reservoir clean, birds cannot contaminate—the cups are float valves, auto- filling with use.—*I gave Less stars for the cleaning only bc i hadn't figured out how to tip/pivot the cups (ididnt kno yet), w/out lifting the bucket BUT ITS REALLY EZ (i feel stupid 4 not trying B4 reviewing): just pivot cup in place and swish out w/extra water bottle on hand and fingers (reset cup upright asap, since releases water while pivoted)—once mounted in position either onto a raised bucket (my first set-up: 3 cups mounted onto a 5G lidded bucket I set on 3-4 bricks on the ground, but it can also be hung by the handle—OR—in a line on pvc pipes).—These are sturdy, with no small parts like nipples that can easily break (beaks are hard & strong)—birds take to them fast, no “training“ involved-the water is right there for them to see & reach—on hot days, i add a recycled 2L soda bottle of frozen water, keeps cool all day (swapped out daily)—I Plan to order more for my 6-bay breeding coop: pvc pipe will run along the coop stringers from my indoor cistern (an abs garbage can with bulkheads/bibs applied to both sides for attaching the pipe runs: i’m using 3” sections of 2”Dia pipe coupled onto longer pipes so i can reach & tighten wingnut/o-ring/washer assy inside—total cost for this setup b4 water cups abt $35), then i can choose cup placement—i like to support companies in the USA, this is an added plus: Made in USA

So far so good! We've been using these for a couple months and we're all happy. And just because I have time on my hands and decided I'd write Amazon reviews (rather than just reading them like it's my job), here are my pros and cons...Pros: 1) it is so so so much easier to keep the water clean! I keep the lid on the bucket and just tip the little cups over in the morning to get the yuck out. Easy peasy! 2) depending on the container you use, refilling is much easier too! I carry a gallon of water out, pop the bucket lid up and pour it in 3) everybirdie learned to use the new watering system immediately. I was afraid there'd be a learning curve as some of my girls aren't terribly bright, but alas, the transition was smooth! 4) I paid for 6 cups and got 7. If it's free, it's for me!!Cons: 1) installation required me to go buy a new drill bit and, because my local hardware store is teeny tiny, I had to buy it solo instead of in a pack with friends. That felt a tad wasteful to me. 2) since using these, the temp has dipped a couple of times below freezing. Thankfully, since my gals are free ranging, they are able to use the dog's heated water bowl. I'm not really sure what we'd do otherwise because I don't have time to thaw the ice in all the various places. Since the temp goes us during the day and will "fix" this issue, I've not given it too much thought. You however may not be in the same boat. Something to consider...Overall I'm very pleased with these. I have already recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

These are the bees knees for backyard turkeys! They were used to the tiny "nipple" devices on a 5 gallon bucket but always seemed thirsty; when we let them out each morning they all headed to the nearest bucket of rain water outside their apartment (not good). We finally took the hint and ordered these instead, and they are the hands-down BEST solution for delivering clean water in far more substantial amounts. Not just drips of water, entire gulps at a time with immediate refills! These watering cups are absolutely easy to install and the tiny rubber washers ensure a tight seal with minimal effort; I particularly love the wing nuts to tighten each watering cup from the inside of the bucket. A tip: make sure to install them about 5" up from the bottom of your water source, much higher than you would with regular "nipples", since the bottoms of the cups must easily clear the ground or whatever other surface you place your water bucket on. That said, I'm extremely pleased with these little cups -- and so are our turkeys!!! Next up: installing a mini-bucket for 10 new ducklings that should be here by the end of next month with these wonderful drinking cups... that's the real test, since ducklings are the hardest to raise due to their excessive need for gallons of water every day (plus the mud thing of course). After testing them with the turkeys I am now very confident that this will work for ducklings too -- well, forget any doubts you might have, just order at least a couple of these and see for yourself how effective they are for little birdies!

I love these but the failure rate is way too high for the price for most people. I've used every kind of cup or drinking nipple available and when these work, they are the best. The chickens love them.However, they do get dirty and are not easy to clean. I've been using them for about six months and have installed about 10 of them total and have probably had 5 fail. I can't even figure out why, they just stop filling.Where as your standard nipple gets the job done, too, but at 25 cents vs $6-$7. And I rarely have standard nipples fail. I waited six months to review these. When I first got then I thought they were amazing. And they are, but the cost combined with the failure rate isn't really ok.I could go way more in-depth, but bottom line is that these are great when they work and if you can afford to replace them. If you're on a budget, I'd stick with standard nipples.
