I love this red barn for my new hatched chicks. This thing comes with everything you need. I put the light at the top of the barn and you can change the brightness. The feeder and waterer are great because there will be no waste and they hook to the side of the barn to make more space. This barn even came with a chick swing which is awesome and some stickers for my kids to put anywhere they want on the barn. It took me about 20 minutes to put the whole thing together and it can hold about 15 baby chicks under the heated brooder plate.

It's a great brooder, but there is a risk of getting rats in it. I decided to place it inside my house and transfer them to the chicken coop when the chicks are 5 weeks or older. I also got extra waterer, feeder, and heater. I don't use the heater now because I like my low voltage heater more, but I used it when one of my chicks was sick, and I separated it. So, if you count it, $50 heater, $40 waterer and feeder. $60 for a brooder is a nice deal.

So excited to be getting chick's from my friend. This is such a great, cute, easy to assemble & comes with everything I need for a first time chicken owner. Price was pretty good too, my only disappointment was the handles that came on the sliding doors, one was broken off, I only found one of the tiny screws, the other one was missing, so I can't put it back on.

Super easy to put together, a great size. It wasn't flimsy, actually quite sturdy, and my girls loved watching their duckling after it hatched. We only used it the one time, but I'm excited to use it again. It was safe for the kids and for Popcorn (duckling) with strong velcro and a locking mechanism on the doors

Easy set up and very convenient! Only things I will say is the feeder/waterer can only have one chick at a time so I ended up purchasing a different feeder/waterer to reduce conflict. The heating plate it great but not warm enough for newborn chicks, I also needed to purchase a heating lamp to use for the first couple weeks. Also, 8 chicks in here would be a stretch. I have 7 and I’m getting concerned they will outgrow this brooder before they’re ready to be outside.

I don’t hate it. I love the idea of it. The whole set up is very convenient. I got it because I kept hatching chicks and the tote just wasn’t cutting it. I thought the heat plate would be safer… all five lavender Orpingtons ended up passing away. I think some of it was user error I didn’t notice one of the watering cups that came with it was for collecting water after they pecked the tip. My chicks were not used to pecking the tip. They were used to the watering cup. So pay attention lol don’t be me. But after those two passed I quickly checked everything and all seemed well. But then I found them dead under the heat plate. It was high enough for them to get out. Could be user error but just be careful. Again I love the set up and convenance. And when done you literally just fold it up. But the other main reason to order is to keep chicks and house safe and stay away from heat light and it seemed like it did not work the best for me.

I definitely like it. It was easy to set up and I like that I can pack it flat when I’m done. The only part that stinks but this is my brooder is the clean up. Once you stop using liners it is hard to get in there to change up the shavings. I wish it had a “drawer” to just pull out and dump them and then put it back. Other than that it is great.

This was supposed to be a kit containing the brooder box, waterer, feeder, and a heater plate. I only got the brooder box. Nothing else. I had baby chicks that needed to come out of the incubator (also a Rent A Coop product that was not a very good product) or they would die. I called Amazon and the lady apologized and said I had to contact the company to get the stuff I was missing, she promised over and over she would call me back the next day to follow up. Wasn’t surprised when I got no call. I have called Rent A Coop multiple times and have left several messages and emails with no response. I had to purchase another off brand heater plate that would get here in time for me to move the chicks and it didn’t work so I had to resort to using our heat lamp which was why I bought the kit in the first place so I could avoid using it. I am so disappointed in both Amazon and Rent A Coop.Update**Rent a coop finally reached out and they are sending the missing pieces and they apologized for the mistake and gave me a full refund. Apparently the plain coops were sent out as kits by mistake.

Love this little brooder!! I love the feeder & waterer, they work great to keep everything fresh for the baby chicks. Also love the heating plate. Not really a fan of the swing as it takes up quite a bit of space. But overall super happy with this set up & products.

It has been nice for the heat plate and the box, but the water leaks and the food container seems too big.

The crate itself is fine. The feeder is fine but the waterer never seemed to work right.

This is a simple a bit flimsy brooder for a small amount of chicks. It does work great.

This thing is great! I love that it's been fairly easy to clean. My cats can't get to my babies. I did have to add a feeder as the one you attach was a bit complicated for the babies to get the food. It says it holds up to 10 chicks and that's true IF they're just a week old but I'm on week 3 and only have 7 and they're getting a bit crowded. My one negative is that one of the chicks got on top of the swing and got her foot caught in the slits on top of the swing. She's okay but thank goodness my husband was home to rescue her because she was just dangling. Also the heat plate is a little small for ten 3-week-old chicks but they seem to manage just fine. Overall I would purchase again.

I originally didn't want to get this expensive thing but I really also didn't want to piece together a new brooder for my chicks.It really does come with everything needed to get started, and then some. So I feel like I got my money's worth.Its pretty sturdy and well put together. The lid is pretty solid. The frame for the window/door is starting to come away so the chicks are able to kick sand out. But it's a sticky tape material, so an easy fix. Overall easy to out together.What I like is I can use it as a hospital if I need to isolate a sick bird inside for close observation, vs outside in the quarantine area. So again, multi purpose for the money spent.

Overall I really like this brooder. It’s a good size and looks like it will meet my needs. So why didn’t it get 5 stars? First of all, crappie directions. For instance it didn’t say how to position the flaps on the tray when putting it together. Also the instructions on placement of the water and food containers did not match using them with this brooder box. If they had, I would not have had a leaky water container.When it comes to a leaky container, I discovered that the bowl attachment CANNOT rest on the bottom of the brooder. It must be suspended, not touching anything. Once I did that, no more leaks.I haven’t used the brooder at this writing. Chicks will arrive later in the week. If necessary I will update this review.

Bought this for our library events to take our baby peeps along. Definitely bigger then what I was expecting but it holds a decent amount of peeps. Super easy to put together too. Easy to clean as well, which that is always a plus when raising peeps

Love this broader! Use it for the babies and when I need to separate an injured chicken. Only thing that I don’t like is the straw pad it comes with, will never use those again. Kept having babies die when a couple hours ago they were fine. Turns out they would eat the pad and it would kill them right away. I’ll be using the puppy pads from now on. I lost 4 baby chicks and 4 Guinea Keats before I found the culprit. I’m so mad at myself.

This bundle has all the essentials for getting started with chicks. The brooder is sturdy and spacious and the brooder plate is easy to use. A turnkey setup for new chicken owners. It also doubles as a chicken hospital, in the event that one of your grown chickens needs to be separated to recoup. Rent a coop is a trusted brand for our family and their products are built to last.

I loved the bigger version so much, I ordered the small one for a new batch of chicks. Unfortunately, not all of the pieces arrived for this bundle. Missing was the jute liner. This was advertised to be included. Same with the waterer. Inconsistent with order fulfillment.

The brooder seems to be well built and was easy to assemble. The jute pad, however, fell apart and ended up sticking to the chicks feet. We had to soak their feet in water to get the material off. The description indicates that a 4 pack will last 5 to 6 weeks. With 4 chicks, it needed to be replaced the second day due to the smell. We only used the one provided with the brooder and returned the 4 pack we purchased at the same time.

Great coop. The waterer that came with leaked so was unusable. Feeder only allows one chick to feed at a time causing behavior issues. Badly designed accessories are why this only gets 3 stars. Used the coop successfully to raise 4 chicks after replace waterer and feeder.

This kit seems great but once you unpack everything, you’ll realize you just wasted a bunch of money on very basic things you could’ve pieced together at home or bought cheaper at your local feed store. The popup structure is cheaply made and not ideal for the food/water feeders that are supplied. The feeder and waterer are also as basic as it gets and don’t function great. Overall, I wish we would’ve saved the money and skipped this. It’s definitely not worth the money, at all.
