The price is a bit steep considering how easily chicks can tear these liners apart. My chicks were able to pull at the material, leaving string-like fibers throughout the brooder, which was disappointing.
That said, these liners are very absorbent and noticeably reduce ammonia odors. I use pine shavings on top of them, and that combination works much better than using the chick liner pads, paper towels, or shavings alone. The size is also a perfect fit for the larger Little Red Barn Brooder.

These work perfect! Very easy to roll up and just throw away

I felt like these were overkill. They poop far too much and these get dirty quick. Throwing them away after only a day or so felt wasteful and expensive. Plus once they start scratching this thing get destroyed in no time and there are like tumble weed things from it all over the place. I like the idea but chickens don’t let me really put them to good use.

I had the liner down for less than 24 hours, even placed shavings on top of it for added protection… it was shredded very quickly. My chicks are still small, so I can only imagine what larger chicks would do. I’m nervous about them eating it.

Don’t make the mistake I made and buy these for the Big Red Coop because they are way too small annd you will have to use extra. They are really good for the older chicks but they do get tangled up in their feet. They still allow the chicks to scratch a whole in the bottom of the coop. I’m still waiting to buy the larger ones so I wish I had bought the smaller coop that did fit these.

Super happy that I purchased this, Game changer for me! Much easier than dealing with dusty bedding! Will continue to purchase again.

There was clear packing tape down one side of the bag these came in. I called RentACoop and they said these should not have had any tape on it. They have had problems with resold returns from selling on other platforms. Since I’ve talked to numerous people since this happened that use them with guineas, I suspect whoever had it before me did something to the pads and returned them. Thus carefully inspect the bag when you buy one of these and DO NOT USE if it has been taped or at least air it out for 24 hours and keep a close eye on your keets/chicks for a while.

Changing my review to 3 stars as I don’t *think* this was Rentacoop’s fault, but do not know for sure.

Killed my lavender guinea meet in 30 minutes and would have killed the rest of the flock if I hadn’t noticed yanked them out and took them outside to get some fresh air for a while. I sanitized my brooder, put everything back EXCEPT the pad. 3 more guineas are still weak and shaky and may not make it, but the rest seem fine now. All the guineas started staggering around like they were drunk after putting this in my brooder. I do not recommend using this or at least let it air out for 24 hours before using it if you are willing to give it a try. If you do, keep a close eye on your babies. If their wings start sagging and they stumble around like they’re drunk, get them out of there as quickly as possible.

It says it is made of jute on the bag and claims to be safe, but it certainly wasn’t for my flock.

Not a good fit for an octagonal playpen type broader. The chicken scratch it up too quickly and it has to to changed too often for the price. It also starts to smell after a very short time. I used cut straw with better success.
