    Not expensive and works great!

I got this chicken feeder kit since I needed a simple way to feed my chickens. This kit includes only the four red feeding ports. A container and a 3" holesaw is needed for the installation. I used a large bucket that I had in the house and a 3" holesaw from another kit, so I did not have to spend anything extra. If one does not have a holesaw, it may be more economical buying a kit with holesaw included. Drilling a hole with the holesaw is easy, and it is the first time I used it. After drilling the hole, I placed the feeding ports according to the instructions. The hens used the feeder, although if they have an open feeder around, they may prefer that instead. To get them used to the feeder, I placed some dried mealworms in each port. I like that it is waterproof, as long as the container has a lid. The bucket needs to be slightly elevated for the chickens to reach easily the feed, I placed the bucket on another short plastic container. After everything was done, I was really happy that I created my own feeder! Compared to other similar kits, this one does not have doors for the ports to close at night or when the feeder is not in use, but I do not think I would have spent the time closing each opening at night anyway. I would recommend this kit to a friend!

    Saves on wasted feed

(Probably the most important thing to note is you need to install these at the correct height. Poultry get the feed from the bottom of the cup so if its too low in the container there isn't much feed available and a tall bird won't be able to reach down at the correct angel. You could raise the container but holes close to the bottom don't flow well)

I tried using this for my tiny Call Ducks, which are a bantam duck, I would not recommend this for a full size duck as I don't think they could get their big bill into the whole to get the feed. The only problems that my Calls had was they would have a wet bill, reach in to get feed and in the winter it would freeze and the feed would stop flowing out. It has reduced the number of sparrows that I waste feed on and I think I'll love this feeder in the summer.

I found a plastic container that had seals and 4 latches to keep weather out since I'm using this outside. See pic. It's not hard to drill the holes and install the cups. My husband cut a piece of wood and made a baffle so I didn't need to put so much feed into the container to make it work. See pic. The right container is important

    Overall I really like these.

    Best option out there!

These are our absolute favorite feed ports. They are a great size for all of our chickens. We like the turn down ports, but with young chicks and small breeds, we found that it was easy for them to get stuck. That problem is totally solved with these. Plus, they can be closed off if need be.

    Game-Changer for Newbie Quail Owners

I recently purchased the RentACoop Chick2Chicken DIY Medium 4-Port Feeder Kit with Built-In Slider Port Covers and I couldn't be happier with my decision! As a new quail owner, I was a bit overwhelmed by the prospect of setting up feeders for my flock. However, this kit made the process incredibly simple and straightforward.

The built-in slider port covers are a fantastic feature. They allow me to easily control the amount of feed I'm providing to my quail, preventing waste and saving me money. The kit also comes with clear instructions, making it easy for even beginners like myself to assemble and use.

I've been using these feeders for a few months now and my quail absolutely love them. They're sturdy, easy to clean, and most importantly, they've helped me to keep my feed costs down. If you're a new quail owner or simply looking for a reliable feeder for your backyard flock, I highly recommend the RentACoop Chick2Chicken DIY Medium 4-Port Feeder Kit. The best feeders for our Quail

These work so well for our quail. We no longer have the food waste that we did with a different feeder. These have a deeper lip so that the quail do not throw the food on the ground. We are now using these on all of our feeders.

    Revolutionized my chicken feeding.

What a PITA it is to haul chicken feed to the coop/run daily only to have the chickens knock the feeder over or poop on the food. Enter the feeder ports. Use the included hole cutter on your drill, then screw the port in place. I used a 32 gallon rubbermaid tote. Simple, easy to install. Now I fill the tote every other week. Chickens are fed. Food is clean and dry. No critters or insects in the food.

    Great value. Minimum spillage.

Excellent do-it-yourself chicken feeder ports. Way less spillage than other types of feeders. It's nice to see the food not going to waste.

    No more wasted feed

These feeder ports were easy to install and the girls figured them out quickly. I haven't seen any spilled feed in the couple of months that we've been using these--Charlotte tries, the sneak, but she does not succeed. Consequently, I'm going through much less feed than a was a few months ago. My one issue is that the feed openings are pretty small and get filled up with dust from the feed (I don't think my feed is particularly dusty), which is more difficult for the hens to eat. I just periodically go through and make sure the pellets are feeding to the openings. Maybe this wouldn't be as much of an issue with crumbles. My feeder is hanging in the middle of a covered run, so I don't have an issue with the weather, but the openings don't have covers, so rain or snow could blow in from the side.

    Pretty Small

I did not end up using these due to size of them. A lot smaller than most of the others out there and still not cheap. I sent them back but do really like there water cup sets.

    Saves money on food

I love this product. I ordered it twice. I have them on all my feeder. Saves a lot of previous wasted food. Read the instructions. Make sure when installing the feeder you have it turned with the opening at the bottom of the feeder. If you have the feeder turned the wrong way the feed will pour out. It's easy to put the feeder in the wrong way if you don't read the instructions.

I have purchased other items from Rent a Coop and have been pleased with all my items. Fast shipping as well. Oh! the chickens and small chicks took right to the feeders.

    Perfect product!

Exactly what we needed for our quail. With these we’ve gone to zero waste. Bought a $1 Tupperware box from Walmart, cut the holes and put these cups it. Literally will take you minutes, cheaper then buying feeders at the pet stores and 100x better! These are smaller then some of the cups out there so great for the quail but honestly want to use these for my chickens too. WONDERFUL PRODUCT and you can easily reuse.
