This is the 2nd one of these heated waterers I have purchased, so I must like it. I especially like them they take up much less space than the traditional chicken waterers that are heated and aren’t open like a bowl to get dirty. And you know chickens love to get water dirty. And the insulated cover means it doesn’t take as much electricity to keep the water warm. I love it for those times when I have out-of-season chicks, need to isolate a bird because they are sick or need special treatment, or have a couple of birds that are in their own area.This waterer is easy to take apart and clean, and it fits securely to the fence or side of a cage. It’s also easy to fill, you just have to remember to check it more often when the cover is on.

I got this heated drinker from the RentACoop store for my tree hens to use during winter. The capacity is small (64 oz.), so one should check the size before purchase. I am planning to add water frequently, so the size is not a problem for me. Also, I plan to get quails next year, and this heated drinker would also be appropriate for them. There are heated elements in this drinker that keep the water from freezing. I am pleased with this heater and I would recommend it to be used by a few birds!

This has been the perfect waterer in our brooder. We've tried a lot of different waterers and by far this one has been the easiest to use and keep clean. I highly recommend teaching your chickens to use the nipple style waterers. From everything I've read, they are the most sanitary as well. We have about 60 chickens now and I wish we would have taught all of them. So far, we've only used this with our last batch that we just hatched and they took to it incredibly well. I have several anti-freeze nipple waterers for the rest of my chickens, but they refuse to try to drink from them. They've gown up with the conventional waterers. Now, it's freezing and all my conventional waterers constantly need maintenance in the morning. The anti-freeze waterers work perfectly well, but none of the chickens use them because they don't know about the nipples. If I would have had all my chickens in the brooder get used to using a nipple drinker like this one, I would be set. I've used Rent-A-Coop products in the past and I've always like the quality of their products. This waterer is no different. It's 64 oz, so it's not very large, but it's perfect for about 5-6 chicks. It only has one nipple, so it really can't support more than that. It comes with a bracket that you mount to the side wall of your brooder and it makes it where you can lift the entire thing out to fill it. I have yet needed to clean it out because of how the nipple waterers keep everything clean. No leaking, etc. Our brooder is inside a barn so I haven't had the need to plug it in yet to keep the water from freezing. It has a neoprene sleeve that surrounds the waterer to retain temperature. We just pop open the opening in the top and fill it every 3-4 days. Very easy. I will be purchasing a couple more in order to support more chicks when we start hatching closer to spring. All of our new chicks will be using this as I really believe it will make our water chores so much easier later on. I'll update my review should anything change.

This ice-free waterer has worked well for my needs. I use it for my rabbits and it has been so nice to not have to fill the water container so often, and to know that it will stay ice-free! I definitely recommend it. I have purchased four so far.

I was in need of a watering system for my Quail that would withstand the NE Ohio winters. We had a PVC system that of course broke with the cold. So far, the Quail have taken to these nipples very fast. I think within 5 minutes each cage was drinking. We will see how they do with the cold temps, but i'm excited so far.

Small capacity, but perfect for my two newly integrated pullets that get chased away from the bigger heated waterer!

I have owned several RentACoop items and this has the same good quality of material and craftsmanship as the others. It comes with multiple ways to hang the unit depending on your coop setup. The insulator is an added bonus that seems to be helping. I really like the flip top which makes refilling super easy and less messy. When not in use, I put the plug under the insulator at the flip top of the unit for easy storage. This is a smaller waterer, but it has worked fine if filled daily for my flock of 15 chickens with another source of non-heated water available as well. We typically only freeze overnight and a few days during the winter in my area and this has worked perfect to ensure the chickens have water available first thing in the morning before my other water thaws.

It rarely freezes here, but I got this for a backup water source for the days that it does. It’s pretty small, only holds 2 liters but the insulation is great and it will at least give them a little bit of water should their other source freeze.

This is absolutely great for the value, so long as you know and understand the size: this is TINY compared to most chicken waterers, and is not adequate on its own for full-sized birds in even a moderately sized flock: this is suitable for VERY small birds in very small numbers, if it is their only water source.All that said, it is a great little waterer, reliably built, and I appreciate the custom/snug fit of the "cozy" that fits around it like a little scuba-diving suit.No complaints, and we'll see how it holds up with our small bantam breeders this winter!

We used in breakout pens over the winter. Holds water for a couple days with 3-4 adult birds.Never had any freezing issues.
