Hands down the best poultry feeder I have used. Simple, easy to fill and clean. No moving parts to wear out, just good, solid engineering. The ladies eat what they need with very little waste and the local wildlife appears to be deterred.
I have purchased an additional unit and will probably add more. The waterers are fabulous as well. All are well made and will take your chicken keeping game up several notches.
Our hens love this feeder! And for those of you wondering, it’s perfect for ducks too. I have a tall Welsh Harlequin who shares it with 2 little call ducks and they are all able to access the feed fine. I love it because I never have to worry about anyone running out of feed- I just check it every few days. Even though my dogs can technically stick their noses in the opening, they aren’t able to grab enough feed for it to be worth their effort so they leave it alone. No bugs, no rodents. Just a perfect feeder. I’ll be ordering my third.
I love this feeder. I have 3 of them so far and will be buying another when it’s restocked. I use it for my bantam Cochins and silkies! I have the waterers as well and love them.
Originally, I had ordered the DIY feeder spout, but after I thought about the logistics of finding the right size container (with a lid) and having to create the right size hole (I don't have many tools), I realized that wasn't going to work for me during this lock-down phase.
Rent-A-Coop makes it so easy, so I left it to the experts to re-send a completed feeder kit, and I am overjoyed (almost as happy as my hens).
And it arrived right away!
My small coop can't accommodate a large feeder, and this is great fit, plus it holds 10 whole pounds of feed. It fits neatly next to the Rent-A-Coop cup water container.
It took a couple days of "training" for the hens to get the idea, I just followed the helpful videos on the Rent-A-Coop website and it works perfectly, as promised.
This feeder has cut back on waste tremendously! They used to eat pellets from a trough style feeder. The sparrows and mice used to constantly help themselves. Not anymore. Absolutely pest prof feeder. My feed expense has been cut in half!
Smart, easy designs with great customer service!
Finally!! I’ve found a feeder that I actually like and it’s helpful with feed waste! And can I just say this company has amazing shipping, received in 2 days and I live across the US!! Customer service and fast shipping are the reason I went ahead and ordered the chicken waterer, which again came even faster! If ever I need anything for my chickens, I’m checking here first!
I saw this on LakeForkGuys YouTube videos when he shows his chickens. I knew I had to have it. This is an amazing feeder! There’s little to NO mess! I have 3 chickens and I got the 10lb feeder with a single hole and it’s perfect. I’m brand new to backyard neighborhood chickens, and I’m doing ALL I can do I to not get a mouse/rat problem and one big suggestion is to take the food away at night, and remove any food left over in the coop or run. When it’s time to take the food up, there’s MAYBE 5-10 individual pieces of food on the ground! Absolutely nothing compared to the open feeder that I was hanging that they would jump on to spill the food on the ground. This is worth the extra money. It’s a thick PVC. Well made. Shipped quickly and got to me quickly.
My Chicken feed last way longer than it did in the other feeder
