Much safer solution to keep chicks heated than a heat lamp. Chicks love it. Feels natural. Chicken already know how to use it. Chicks go under it if they feel cold. They get out when hot.
I understand that I costs much more than a heating lamp. On the good side, those heat lamps consume 125W of electricity. So this heater plate will pay off itself in a matter of a few weeks. Additionally, there is no need to worry about light bulbs breaking, or shattering over small chicks. No more need top worry that the heat lamp is producing too much heat and raise it up every week to maintain 5 degrees less every week.
Overall, this is a much cheaper safer way.
Perfect setup. I love it.
We love Rent-a-Coop! This heater plate was a big hit. I felt that it was a lot safer than using a red bulb and the chicks loved it. Also, super easy to keep clean when you add the roost cap.
Chicks love it! Very well built.
Love the heating plates and so do the ducklings. I probably didn’t need two, but got the second incase we get some cold spring nights when the ducklings are a little older. I ordered with the anti roosting cones, but they were not initially delivered. I contacted “rentacoop” and they were shipped out right away. The cones are a must, otherwise they sit on top and poop all over it. Great purchase so far.
Our new babies love their heating plate, I currently have 10 chicks and they are all easily keeping warm underneath it. Happy I bought the anti-roost cone because the first day home I had one attempt to fly up on top of the plate. I love that it’s designed to raise up and accommodate them as they grow.
I love these heating plates. They are the only thing I feel safe using in my brooders, for the birds and also us since they are in my garage. I've used them with guineas, turkeys, and chicks and they have all been the perfect temperature. I like that they can move away from the heat if they get to warm, so I don't have to worry about them overheating when the days are super hot.
Totally worth the money ! Best heating plate I have found yet. What i LOVE about this one is it can lift really high so if you have a sick chicken they can fit under it or larger babies like turkeys and so forth. It also goes very low for all my Bantam chicks. Many different levels. Definitely recommend the hood for the plate so the chicks cant jump on top of it and poop everywhere.
Chicks love the chick heating plate. Also way safer than using a heat lamp and also enery efficient.
The clicks love it! The lid is a must have keeps off the top !
I’m in love with my new Heat plate, hood and feathers. It’s so easy to use. All my customers at my Expo this weekend where amazed at it. My chicks love it and are flourishing. The hood works great. It Kept them off the top perfectly. Being able to adjust the height was AWSOME. When these Giants double in size in 4 days. It worked perfectly. Thank you again Rentacoop for these wonderful products. I would love to feature their products on my table at my next show. Definitely a return customer.
The chicks are quiet and very satisfied under our rentacoop heating plate! Way better than a heating lamp. I am so glad I made the switch!
Received quickly, within 4 business days of ordering. Easy to put together and, importantly, adjust height. All 16 chicks still fit nicely at two weeks old (12x12 was purchased). Works better for the chicks than the heater lamp and is much more efficient. We tested the power usage of the heater lamp versus this heater plate using an electricity usage monitor and found that we save $45 a month using the heater plate (electricity is expensive in our area)! Per minute usage for lamp: 0.0039 kW. Per minute usage for plate: 0.00027 kW. We would highly recommend and will be purchasing an additional one.
I love you heat plate and so do my chicks!
My baby chickens seem to really like this product, and I feel the heater plate is a safer alternative (both for the chickens and my property) than a heat lamp.
Great product, easy to use and chicks love it!
Love the product!
This is my first time owning chicks and for the first few days we had to use a heat lamp as that's what we thought we needed. After doing some research I kept reading how dangerous the heat lamps are and how much ones electric bill could be raised. I read about this product and was hesitate but so glad I purchased it we now feel safe leaving our babies alone in the garage. If you touch a heat lamp you can easily burn yourself .. this plate is hot but not burning ( it's hard to explain but the chicks love it)
I bought the bigger size even though I only have 3 chicks so far but for the future ... all in all I deff recommend this product
I love this waterer from Rent-a-Coop! Easy to use and keeps the water fresh!
I just love this product. Chicks seem to love it also....It seems so less intrusive than the usual bright and hot red brooder bulb....and feels alot safer too. I got the 12 x 12 and it works great for my 10 little chicks. I would highly recommend this item.
The heater or as we call it “The Mommy”, works great. No heat light. They still use it even at 5-6 weeks. Of course under adequate canine supervision!
