I’ve tried so many and they all end up full of dirt, grass, poop, and other debris. This one is high enough to prevent all that. The little cups are ingenious and the hens got onto them right away. I hung it in their playpen, and yes it will begin to lean (as someone pointed out in another review), BUT, it simple means that you need to add a little water. It only leans when the water level gets to about 1/4 full. I only have three hens so I don’t fill it all the way as I want the water fresh. So I start with half full.
Now they have a larger run and I put it on a cinder block. I read somewhere about a stand to hang it from, but now cannot remember where I read that. My new pen is six feet, so it would be hard to hand it. But cinder block works!
I love the little roof cover that keeps them off of it too! Wish there was one for the treadle feeder.
They are functional.
Just love your stuffs.
We bought this waterer to replace a different product that our pullets found difficult to use. Rentacoop's waterer works great! The pullets had no trouble getting water from the start. Now we have piece of mind the chickens are staying hydrated in the heat. The
When water level get low it leans (when hanging) and the remaining water spills out of the cups onto the ground. Had to put on blocks to work properly.
What a fantastic design. After trying it with one flock, I bought more for the rest. Such an easy to fill and clean design. Birds get a fresh drink every time.
This is my 2nd purchase, not because the 1st one broke, but because the product worked so well and I increased my flock size! Love the cup design and the chickens do too!
